Elegant, blueberry, tobacco, Medium-body. I'm not finding the coffee notes that everybody's talking about, gave it a quick 45-minute decanting and I give it a 92

Three hour decant. Elegant structured Napa cab. Not the ever popular fruit bombs that taken over Napa cabs. Old school style with nice balance of red fruit, tobacco and integrated tannins

Had this on Christmas Eve, and it was perfect with prime rib. Smooth, fruit forward, and not at all tannic. I would suggest drinking now or in 2019, as I can't imagine it improving.

Showing pyrazine notes, really green like cooler Bordeaux. Love the style but make sure your guest knows it isn't typical Napa Cab. Elevated acid for Napa, and tannins are fine and thin. More Cabs should be made this way.

Born in the USA (The Great Hall, One Great George Street, Westminster): Biscuit, toast, slight cassis over polished oak and more of the same on the palate The tannins are finely textured but drying. I want to like this more than I am - there is a slight confected note in here that I find is dragging me away from happiness...

Perfumed nose: blueberry, cassis, cherry, juniper, violet, graham cracker, vanilla, green tobacco, graphite. Medium to full bodied. Fine grained and easy tannins, plush texture and syrupy fruit. Ripe and relatively soft but somehow freshness and levity pervade the whole. Finishes light and dry, with lots of crunchy fruit and the pleasant bitterness of herbs. Very well balanced, and although it is totally open and shouldn't ever close down, it should be worth watching for at least a decade.

Good wine but was compared with excellent wines. Just doesn't have the same mouth feel as a superbly made wine. Did exhibit some Rutherford attributes but nothing to write home about.

Wine has good structure and nice acidity. Not like other 2014 Napa cabs from the same area which have been fruit bombs. This wine is young and needed a long decant to open (2+ hrs).

Deep ruby. Herbaceous green notes, blue and red fruits up front, musty earth, lead pencil graphite, round and silky texture although feels wound up and tight, very young, frinks slightly old world. Needs lots of air or rest. Med + plush body, med+ finish.

ok this wine is back where it should be in my opinion. I seem to have dissed the 2013 which sold at $35 and was poor, whereas this one is back to $50 and is quite good. price is always the best predictor of quality in my experience provided you don't get scammed. of course since i only bought one 2013 i may have got one from a bad batch.
i will say this one is a little strong in terms of the heavy head feeling the next day, but there is no cheap wine headache, and the taste is rich. I never bought another 2013 after the first, but I have bought maybe 6 of these.

PNP. Primary. Nose of Raspberry and chocolate, some black currant. Rich, without as much acid backing as it could use perhaps? Tannins present, but not intrusive. Not seeing much Rutherford character at this stage. Flavors much like the 2012 Caymus without the sweetness. Good value in restaurant (Eastside Grill Northampton, MA) at $65. If you are fan of young Caymus, drink up! Otherwise, I would lay these down for another 4-5 years.

This is an odd bird of a Napa cab, in that it's so firmly in the old world style, and if I had to guess blind I would have been torn between left bank Bordeaux and a denser Loire cab franc. A mix of red and dark fruit, accentuated by bell pepper, smoke, leather, and cedar. A ton of earth, and even a little mushroomy? People talk about dustiness of Rutherford cabs, but to me here it came across more as mustiness. High acidity for a cabernet, and medium weight; tannins are there but it's not stiff. Right now it feels a bit raw, and I think it will do better with time. Initial brooding impression eased with air time and became brighter. Interesting to see this kind of rusticism in Napa, although not what I would have in mind when picking up a Napa cab.

Decanted for 3 hours. Very tannic at first. More rustic earth driven than extracted ripe fruit. Really a one note wine (uninteresting and non offensive). Reminds me of unclassified Bordeaux. Nonetheless I also applaud the authentic style.

375ml. Nose to me is black fruit and cedar along with some earthy notes. More dark fruit on the palate and that earthiness. Medium to full bodied with some noticeable tannin. Ok finish. The nose is better than the palate to me. Maybe a little young or needs some air.

Wine & Spirits Top 100 Tasting, nose of dark fruit, same on the palate, very fruit forward, complete but not complex, easy to enjoy but expected more, medium/long finish, at $50-pass.

I texted my best friend to tell him that this wine is currently transcendent. Drinking almost unbelievably well right now.
Characteristically light on the palate with the slightest hint of tannins balancing out delicate flavors of strawberry jam and raspberry macarons.

Well structured Rutherford Cab. Dark fruit and coffee notes. Flavors are balanced and deep. Merlot and Cab Franc were added to beef this one up.
