Holy smokes. This is awesome grape juice! I am not a regular Beaujolais fan but bought into the hype over the 2015 vintage being one for the ages. Of the lots I have cellared, this one is in the lead and getting better with every bottle. A big thank you to the critics who tipped the lead. This is serious wine, deep color, throwing a nice sediment, the balance is impeccable and simply delicious on all senses. Awesome in any appellation on the planet! Bravo!

Lighter purple. Explosive red berry, incense and spicy nose. Black raspberry, blueberry and juniper run through to a moderately long finish with resolving tannins and a hint of menthol.

A bit of funk/sulfur upon opening but blew off after around 15-20 mins. Ripe and fruit forward on the nose but showing a bit better than my previous bottle. Some earthy/gamey notes starting to come through. Still a bit over ripe and jammy for my preference in Beaujolais but serviceable as an end of night sipping wine.

Decanted for 3 hours. took off some of the earthy funk, but still enough to notice, which I love. soft red fruits with balanced tannin and acidity. love Morgon.

Popped and poured. Medium bright purple color. Nose was pretty funky with some brett notes and mixed ripe red berry fruits. Not exactly a pleasant nose but it improved a little bit with air. Ripe red fruits on the palate yet finishes slightly tart. More juicy and ripe than dry. Medium acid and tannin. This wine proved to me that 2015 is not the vintage for Beaujolais I want to have in the cellar. Thankfully this is only 1 of 2 bottles. Completely missing the freshness and crispness I look for. This was overripe for me.

Deep rich colour.grapihite, ripe blueberries, minerals on palate. Delicious mouth watering acidity on finish. Beautifully balanced and one of the best Beaujolais I have ever had. It does not get much better than this for gamay.

Well maybe my taste is evolving since the last 2 bottles, definitely funky, grapiness faded, never got comfortable with the flavor but it slowly grew on me, still not sure if this is what the wine should taste like as Vinous likes it so much and described a different wine, not typical Gamay flavor, ok I am puzzled, drank with barbecued chicken, might try another vintage.

pitchfork full of barnyard on the nose... smoothed out in the mouth with bright red fruit (strawberry), earthiness / dirt, a long finish with good acidity and lots of tannic chew... YUM!

On a night of great wines this held its ground. Beautiful red and blue fruit with plenty of freshness to counter the ripe fruit (for bojo). Chalky finish. Excellent.

I served this in my wine course. Complex but balanced natural wine nose, with LB fermentation pickle smells, plus black cherries, smoke and earth. Fairly rich mouth by Morgon standards. Long finish, with plenty of fruit and earth. Almost no brett in this sample. Always love Thevenet's Morgon's, and 2015 is no exception.

Just like first bottle, grapey and not like a Beaujolais, have 1 more bottle, should i return it to WL; maybe the wine was not stored well and is spoiled.
Not sure what this was, it did not seem corked but I hope it was bad, grapey bouquet, tasted grapey, nothing else going on, not like any Beaujolais that I have tasted, my wife tolerated it. Drank with paella, have 2 more bottles, oh well will see what they taste like

Dark cherries and a hint of strawberries on the nose, slightly earthy. Solid, juicy and quite full bodied with dark berries and plums on the palate, fine acidity and med (-) tannins. A pleasant Morgon

Plum Market Luxury Fall Tasting (Chicago, IL): As far as gamay goes, this is a fairly good example. Dark fruited, with a fair bit of power, but again, the dilution from this very evil and very disloyal grape plant called gamay (not my words, but a Duke of Burgundy's) shows up in the midpalate and sort of kills the fun.
Translucent violet color, nose of cherry cordial and slight herbs, palate with bracing mineral/iron notes, bright red fruits, light body and medium-high acidity. Juicy and has enjoyable fruit flavors now but balanced, not overly ripe; light and pleasing with food. Really nice. 91 pts

Great Cru Beaujolais that has retained its freshness and restraint in a hot vintage.
Flavors and aromas of blueberry, cracked black pepper, ripe red fruits and earth.
Doesn’t fatigue your palate at all. Could drink this all night.
