Ruby red color with bright red fruit flavors (cherry/raspberry). Evenly balanced acidity throughout with a hint of soft cracked pepper on the finish. Drink now.

Hour decant, a decidedly obvious expression of a Cali pinot from this region, with a nose that is cherry and underbrush along with some cola and spice. The palate is much the same, with tart acidity there to hold it up. Lighter bodies and with a medium length finish.

Hard to top Christine's excellent description, except to say that this was also a great value for the now fully-discovered Sleepy Hollow Vineyard in SLH. Comparable quality at half the price on offer at your neighborhood warehouse store.

The brawny side of Pinot Noir, Talbott’s Sleepy Hollow Vineyard is located in the Santa Lucia Highlands. There, Pommard and Dijon clones burrow deep into Chualar gravelly loam soil and sand, resulting in a wine with an equal measure of weight and acidity along with steeped raspberry, cherry, rose hip, underbrush , and spice notes. Bordering on opaque, with a core of cranberries and sour cherries, and taught acidity that crescendos with a burst of saline-edged minerality on the finish. Sample

Fruity strawberry. Astringent. Not to my liking at all.

Too buttery and low acidity at this stage.

Aromatic, dried berry, leather, nut and toast nose. Ripe and warming palate, sweet-centred with notable acidity on the toasty finish.
3.5/5

Cranberry dominated, nice complexity, but tartness is a bit over the top. Not my style.
