Antoine Jobard/Hudelot-Noëllat Dinner at La Paulée de Los Angeles (Kato, Los Angeles): Noticeably cooler, more herbal aromas with some wood mixed in. Lighter, not as concentrated as the ‘19. Citrus and orchard fruit, lots of soil, and the lowest perceptible acidity of the 6 wines shown. At least very good, but somewhat blurry and a step or 2 down in palate impact and presence. Like some of the other Jobard’s, it came on nicely with air and had more satisfying shape and structure by the last sip.

Flinty, clean and precise, with sharp acidity. I found the fruit to be a bit muted at first, but definitely got better with air. Ultimately I was hoping for a bit more weight and depth, but this was still tasty.

White Burgs and Rhone Varietals To Go With Burgers and Thursday Night Football (Los Olivos, CA): Just entering its drinking window. Taut and precise, with some initial flint and apple skin aromatics giving way to some mildly honeyed peach, lemon and saline notes. Balanced and compact on the palate, with some ginger and minerality joining the party. More sophisticated than I expected, and may have upside from here.

Chez Said: Still primarily youthful fruit (white orchard fruit, a hint of exotic elements), the salinity and structure of the terroir is present, but not yet fully integrated, for me a bit too early to drink, because clearly with upside potential.

The perfect amount of struck match to the aroma. There are notes of honeysuckle and pure white peach too. It is unctuous and deep in the mouth, with great intensity of orchard fruit flavours. It has real volume but is light on its feet, finishing with good cut and powering on and on. Spice and minerals linger on the palate.

This wine well balances the elements of a ripe vintage with a more traditional style. A nicely fragrant nose of lemon, pineapple and herbs. An excellent opening. The ripeness of the vintage does not dominate. It shows lemon/citrus and a balanced and good acidic base. Excellent crispness dominates from start to finish. A nice finish of all elements and more of the oak showing clean and fresh with a lemon twist. Excellent.

starting to drink well. Salt, minerals and lemon. Balanced well. Develops well over a couple of hours. Uniquely excellent long finish of minerals and a touch of flint.

Super white Burgundy with excellent intensity and concentration but also fine and elegant. Delicious lemony fruit gives way to a hazelnutty, mineral-laden finish that is to die for. This has filled out nicely since I last tasted it a year ago and it will last but why wait for Premox...

Danilo’s Private Tasting (Restaurant The Lobby Fizeaustraat, Hotel V, Amsterdam, NL): Reduced nose clears up to reveal beautifully pure fruit, amazing energy and freshness for a 2015, salty minerality, balanced and elegant, refined and intense, hint of salted butter, well managed tannins, very good length. Needs two years. Drink now - 2025.

Fuller than the Poruzots with the same taut texture and excellent acidity for the vintage. Tingly and complex on the finish with complex chalky minerals. A lovely white Burg that needs a bit more time. 92+

A bit smoky, popcorn, matches; more lean and Puligny-like than this producer usually shows, this is much, to young – compared to the 2012 en la barre tasted recently. Hold, don't drink, much too young. 93++ point

Needs time to open up before it becomes expressive. Was a bit shy or shut down at first. So has some years ahead it seems, also.
