  • From a 1/10th (375). Dark, rich ruby colour with some faint brown edges, high optical density, and medium specular reflectivity. Interesting aromas with decent intensity, showing raspberry, dusty rose pedal, and a spiced gravel note. Plenty of aromatic florals and a sense of the barrel. On the palate, medium body and acidity, with still firm tannins that yield a grippy texture that is weighty and rustic, yet retains a certain charm and elegance. Flavours of bright red fruits on the attack, with some support from forest meadow florals and stone. The midpalate brings on some spices and a twist of tart fruit peels and earth. Not huge intensity here, but okay. The final transition is savoury and as the tannins kick in there is a drying sense of mixed fruit juice before a medium length finish of new leather.

Overall, intensity is medium and complexity is perhaps a touch short of medium. Things seem a bit disjointed, but not really in a bad way, more like in a rustic and understated character- not goofy, but just a bit different. Well made wine for sure, with old world character. A decent food wine that provides a classic experience, but do not go looking for a wow factor or extra special experience here.

  • Rich ruby core with medium plus to high optical density, medium reflectivity, and a slightly amber rim. Nose of dusty fruits and vegetal garden soil, with a touch of green pepper (but complementary way, not a flaw). Very woodsy and tart red fruit dominant. The palate is fresh in acidity (medium plus to high), medium in body, and with firm tannins and a texture that is open-grained. Electrical tension here dancing across the palate, building some excitement. Flavours of red fruits (cranberry, sour cherry) and celery seed on top of green pepper and soil on the attack. The midpalate is still rich with dusty fruits and some spices. The finish shows dried leather and moist pipe tobacco, and is short to medium in length.

This is very nice wine- enjoyable, and straight-ahead, it provides a fresh drink and a twist of spice. Balanced and juicy with interesting flavours and pretty decent intensity. Very tastefully made and vibrant, this is ready-to-go. Delightful, solid value.

  • Nice 100% Sangiovese. Drank from magnum at Oesteria Philadelphia. Juicy, smooth, moderate grip of tannin, wonderful nose, slightly lighter in colour but not body/palate. Superb with Italian food, good value.

  • Deep dark garnet in color. Forward, attractive and youthful nose of red fruit aromas of strawberries, cherries & plums with overtones of earthy/dusty & floral, dried herbs of sage & thyme, spices, minerals & dark cocoa notes in the background. Medium bodied with a good concentration of smooth textured & balanced, youthful, ripe red fruit flavors of cherries, strawberries & tart cranberries with earthy notes, spices, herbs, minerals, cocoa & a touch of vanilla. Lingering finish. Quite accessible at present with decanting & airing but it should have some limited potential for further development with additional aging. This bottle had the additional designation, "Terra Di Pisa" noted.

  • Medium + red. Cherries and slight whiff of vanilla. New worldish fruit and old worldish balance. Good value.

  • A Sangiovese aged for 9 months in barriques then further 3 months in stainless steel before bottling.

Rather dark, yet translucent cherry color with pale rose color rims. Open, rich and juicy nose with aromas of very ripe cherry, earth, sweet chocolate oak, aromatic wood and a hint of alcohol. Full-bodied and very oak-driven palate with flavors of sweet oak, wood, chocolate, sweet maraschino cherry, marmalade candy, some ripe strawberry and hints of overripe raspberry. The wine is very soft, even borderline flabby with medium acidity and soft, unobtrusive tannins. The finish is long, somewhat warm and coarse with wood tannins. Flavors of sweet wood, chocolate, cherry jam, strawberry, some vanilla and a hint of raspberry marmalade in the aftertaste.

Phooey. This wine has nothing to do with Tuscan Sangiovese - it tasted more of chocolate cherry milkshake than anything remotely red wine. It is hard to imagine pairing this wine with any food with its lack of structure. If you want to call this wine, call it red wine with training wheels for people who want to learn Tuscan wines but don't like their acidity and tannins (which so often are the main point of the wine style). Overdone and boring.
