  • A strikingly beautiful wine. At first sniff it feels very familiar. I am off to the better whites from the Etna region on Siciliy, but after I learn which varietal it is (Malvasia), I know exactly what this effort has so much in common with: The white wines from Miani's Enzo Pontoni. This effort provides a rich, deep and very intense nose full of crisp sun warm lemon zest, a whiff of litchi, white elegant flowers and a profound overall complexity. The palate certainly adds positively to the overall impression with integration and balance as the number one keywords. There is a lovely harmony between the different components and nothing is over the top or on the edge. There is plenty of structure and texture to tell me this effort will age well for a number of years. Length on the finish lasts some 45-50 seconds. If looking for powerful elegance and crispiness this wine is an excellent choice. Certainly inspired by the whites of Friulia in Italy, this is a true gem and well wort seeking out if given the chance.

  • This was our first bottle of the Malvasia Blanca. It was extraordinary. The nose was explosive on the open, just absolutely loaded with citrus: lemon, lime, and especially grapefruit. The flavor profile initially was filled with grapefruit. After the wine was open for a while, the flavor profile settled to one of gentle citrus fruits and a lovely viscosity on the back palate.

  • Pale yellow. Elderberries on the nose and palate. Oily mouthfeel. Nothing austere about this, but I'd still put it away for another year or two.
