Deep ruby color, nearly opaque. Wonderful nose of black cherry, light “dusty” oak. The dark cherry fruit dominates the flavor profile, with side notes of tart cherry, blackberry and oak. A silky-smooth mouthfeel, with excellent balance of tannins and acidity with an elegant flavor depth without a heavy weight. Medium long finish emphasizing again the balance of tart cherry fruit, well-behaved tannins and another touch of oak. Excellent QPR!
From the base of the foothills of the Andes. Little more ripeness on the fruit is the idea. 86% Cabernet and then a little bit of other things. 16 months in french.

Really not a fan of Chilean Wines but this one delivers. Very nice nose of currant - black cherry - very heavy maybe cedar … Big cherry finish with very smooth Tannins which I would have liked a bit more of. Ready to drink now.

This extraordinarily Chile Cab is a fantastic QPR! Very dark and intense ruby colour, nose shows aromas of cherry, blackberry with a oaky touch from the oak barrel aging.
In mouth it’s simply an explosion, firm tannins, med - acidity, dark cherries flavour, tobacco, all along in a silky texture. Nice length.

Tasted blind. Dark ruby. Med+ intensity, grilled meat, red cherry, dried herbs, clove, mushroom, wet leaves, tar, Brett. Dry, med+ acid, med+ tannin, med alcohol. Med complexity, med+ finish, savory. A bit too much funk for a Chilean Cab, just OK.

Deep ruby with aromas of green pepper, brown sugar, black cherry, and freshly cut grass. This wine was bold and bone dry with fairly high tannins and medium acidity. On the palate were sweet cherry, brown sugar, and raisins. There was a nice balance between the tannins and acidity, with a bit of a kick and some warmth in the throat. This wine needed some time to air out, after which it was quite nice. Definitely one I would buy again, with for myself or as a gift to a Cab lover.

Full body, deep cherry color. Intense black fruits, tobacco notes and floral aroma. Dominant black currants palate with spicy finish. Powerful, rich and complex, bold texture, well balanced, fresh berries acidity and ripe tannins. Food friendly, best match is chicken paella. Serve 17º - 20º. Needs aeration, open about two/three hours ahead. Drink now and next five years.

Superbe, beaucoup de maturité dans les fruits, on sent le cassis. Bel élevage sous bois, note de cèdre avec des beaux tannins. Bien équilibré, un bon candidat pour la cave. RQP ****

We had a 'reluctant' bottle with its aroma showing some potential, however the flavour is kinda dumb. We had it briefly aired for an hour. Straightforward darkfruits and blackberry followed by an earthy mixed with oak. On palate, almost exclusively earthy. Mild on tannins. Only after some pour & swirls & swirls, it begins to reveal a mid intensity of darkfruits note. By then, we are already out of juice. I'm disappointed with this bottle, but not the vintage as it has received so much of good reviews.

Second bottle drunk in about a fortnight. This was quite better then the first - so expect bottle variation in this vintage. Anyway, it is still not as good as past vintages I have had the opportunity to taste - this Cab Sauv did not reach its normal heights in 2015.
This is a medium body and still young wine which will benefit from further aging - right now the tannins are sharp and drying. Giving it some air helps, but not so much. Typical Cab Sauv aromas of cassis/black currant, black cherries and wet earth were discernible, but I got a little oak in this bottle too. It has a good finish, which is its main asset nowadays, but not a lot of complexity. 89pts, and not a super QPR in this vintage.

I'm not rating this wine, because it might not be in pristine conditions. Although it had been cellared properly, this was totally dominated on the nose by barnyard/brett notes, which were a major turn-off for me. At least on the palate it seemed to be OK, but it didn't show much besides blackberries. However, it drinks well (velvety tannins) and is relatively long. I have tasted other vintages, and they were much better. 87-88pts just for the mouth if graded.

Started off unbalanced and almost jammy, with nothing but sweet cassis to offer. After two hours in the decanter it has become a different beast; nose fresh with ripe blackberries balanced by tobacco, leather and a hint of eucalyptus. Medium-plus density on the palate, showing minty blackberries, some not entirely integrated oak and smooth tannins. 2/3 of the fun of a young Don Melchor, at 1/3 of the price. I expect it to deliver even better over the next 2-5 years but, the way it drinks now, why wait?

Color: Almost dark impenetrable purple. Nose: Loads of cassis (blackcurrents). Mouth: Nice fruitforward wine. Lacks depth and complexity though. There is also a hint of cold bonfire. Medium to full bodied. A tad too alcoholic (14%). Tasty Cab.Sauv. for every day. Yeah, it is delicious. I get it.

From the Puente Alto and Pirque vineyards in Maipo Alto in the foothills of the Andes, alluvial soils over gravel subsoil, 16 months in oak (part French barrique, part Piemontese vats), 14% ABV. Really very closed and tight directly from the bottle. Three hours in the decanter reveal pure aromas of blackcurrants and black cherries, but the palate remains quite tannic and unyielding. Good flavour concentration and length. Needs time, two to three years at least.

It is a 2015 so a bit fresh, and a tad closed at first in the nose. But in the mouth it is lovely, firm fine tannins, sweet and savoury fruit led by blackcurrant, nice touch of oak. Medium to full bodied, soft and round. Not a long finish but rich and satisfying. Very nice Wine. This is 14% not 14.5% as some are saying.

A solid Chilean Cabernet, Concha Y Toro's Marques de Casa Concha Cabernet Sauvignon 2015 is crafted from fruit sourced from a stony alluvial bench in the Maipo Valley. Classic aromas of black currant and blackberry rest well beneath layers of potting soil and woodsmoke. It's medium bodied and velvety on entry, with fine tannins concentrated at the fore-palate. Towards the finish, a wilder note emerges—a touch of stemminess, a pinch of iron ore, a suggestion of roasted pepper. 14.5% ABV | Sample

A few South American wines: Light purple color. Nose of ripe blackberries and cassis, violets, mint, cocoa powder, charcoal. Full and saucy on the palate, but suave, with medium/firm tannins and moderate acidity. Tart black currant, gushing black cherry, the fruit is mixed with loam, graphite, mint, mocha and vanilla. Lots going on here, and more and more comes out with air. Another great example of this perennially-performing Chilean Cabernet. 100% Cabernet from the Puente Alto and Pirque Vineyards.
