Maybe too long - seemed like a lot of Petit Verdot, which outsized some of the nuanced tastes of the cab. Not much of the rich peppery notes of the cab franc. Does pour a beautiful ruby color.

Dark crimson. Toasted oak, leather, spice, and blueberry nose. Medium to full bodied, bramble, black pepper, crushed black cherries, smoke, leathery tannins, and a medium to long finish. The fruit is a little bit smothered by everything else on this one.

Nicely structured, BDX character, but otherwise feels muted, inharmonious. Dumb phase perhaps, though feels like a wine with a good but not great ceiling.

This is an easy wine to like--as it should be with the name "Victory". As I slowly sip, swirl and sink this lovely red blend I wonder if Victory, in this case, means the rapidly disappearing contents of this bottle are my "victory" for choosing this bottle. Surprised at how quickly the last few drops are poured I ponder a "Victory lap"...no, not drinking this like my dog drinks water, but rather running down to the cellar for another bottle.

Much better than a SV Cab I recently opened from this producer--as it should be. Ribena and wood spice, cedar, capsicum, violet. A 'fancy' sort of classic New World Cab nose. Ripe, chewy tannins that glide in at the mid-palate. Dark fruited, but not roasted, deep, nicely integrated oak. Fine finish.
Drinking well now, though I'd expect more olive and herbal complexity as it ages. No hurry to drink, easily has 5-10 years more in it.

Every time I open one of my precious Wellington wines, I have joy and regret, all at once. I have just one left from this vintage. It was wonderful, as expected.

It's been almost a year since I had a previous bottle. It's still delicious. I note that there are only two reactions to this wine; people either love it, or just think it's okay. I'm in the former camp. I still have three left. :-}

On day 1, with the campfire and a steak, this was delicious. The PV makes itself known with some peppery notes while the rest is a nice and harmonious bottle. This one will benefit a lot from some age - more so than the 2013 it seems.

I may have forgotten how delicious something could be. I chose this specifically because it wasn't rated as highly as some of the other Victory selections from Wellington. It's fragrant, and the flavor is complex and deep. I'm glad that I have more.

Reasonably decent bottle of wine, but felt like it was a little bit too young gonna wait a couple more years to try the others

I love the wines that fill the room with fragrance before you even drink them. It's as delicious as ever.

Nice dry wine with hints of cedar. Medium body opens up with spice and oak. Not sure it is worth the price.
