Good penetrating albarino fruit competes with too much of the lees. Minerality. Nice apricot elements, but what should be accents end up as the dominant player to the detriment.

Interesting take on the grape, which as best as I can determine is made from Lodi fruit by a Napa-based label. More intensity of fruit, emphasizing pear and some apricot notes, not a lot of mineral nor other indicators of a cool-climate vineyard. Pretty unimpressive on the first day open, but on Day 2, with a little warmth in the glass, the wine opened up quite pleasantly, seemingly much more in balance. Finish is medium.

Straw; nose of lemon/lime; not as effervescent as typical Spanish effort; not crisp - almost buttery; fairly unremarkable
