At restaurant. The regular Dog Point bottling is in my eyes one of the best value Chardonnay in NZ, and unlike many other NZ whites in this price segment they can age too. This was still a pale lemon yellow and will certainly stay in its peak drinking window for a few more years. My only criticism here is that it could do with a touch less new oak, while not unpleasant, the palate has picked up a fair bit of that sweetness from the oak, and would rather have a touch more freshness and minerality. Very good wine nevertheless

Seems I liked this more than the community. Light yellow color. Old world in style. Lemon, acid, citrus and reduction. Some matchstick. Felt this was light and refreshing but had a nice burst of flavors. 13.5% abv. The style of Chardonnay I prefer. For $30 bucks this is great IMO.

The 2015 Chardonnay is a fine wine with a bit of elegant reduction including matchstick. But not obtrusive, but integrated. The wine is salty, iodiney and fresh with a good pressure on the palate. The fruit seems juicy and bright, the Chardonnay overall very elegant with a nice complexity. Comparable to a good Premier Cru level.

This bottle had a slight green mineral edge to it which reminded me of a Chablis mixed with a small amount of NZ Sauvignon Blanc. Interesting rather than outstanding.

Medium lemon Color. Mandarin, citrus, Apple, pear, cream, butter, quince on the nose. Med acidity, Med alcohol, Med body, Med flavor, Med finish. Lot of cream and butter, a bit overpowering the fruit, and something wrong cause there is some sparkling impression at first. Ok ish but not great. Btw I was going to visit this wine maker on my now cancelled New Zealand trip. Not sure I will include when I do go there.

Opened this wine at Boomarang Robertson Quay with my army buddies to celebrate a birthday. We had the BBQ PLATE and BOOMARANG PLATE.
Golden in colour with a shiny hue. Strong, fragrant nose with consistent notes of stone fruits and nuts. Some chewy red apples, butter with vanilla, oak and cream.
On the palate the wine has a pronounced structure with good focus and intensity and balance. Fresh acidity balanced by fresh fruits and minerals.
Not a big fan of Chardonnays but this one wowed the table. Overwhelming and finished in no time.

Gorgeous. Some funk and struck match on the nose. Palate builds and improves with a couple of hours of air. Look I can’t do Chardonnay descriptors but fwiw lightly toasted cashews, stone fruits, grapefruit on the front palate and lime on the finish. Long with excellent balance.

From memory: Very nice – ripe stone fruits, butter, smoke and moist gravel on the nose and palate. More of a mineral presence than in your stereotypical New World Chard. Precise and well structured – a definite rebuy!

Aromas dominated by oak, with some minerals and citrus. Rich round flavours of nuts, butter and apples.
