2015 Marcel Deiss Rouge

Community Tasting Notes

Community Tasting Notes (10) Avg Score: 86.5 points

  • Consistent with previous bottles. Pale ruby in color, this wine reveals wet soil, cardamon, black cherry and cinnamon on the nose. The mouth feel is lighter bodied and brings out subtle mineral and black tea elements. The finish is short and choppy with low acidity that fails to bring the fruit and subtle spice components together. 13.0% abv.

Purchased for $18US, this wine's aromatics are pleasant but the thin acidity knocked my score down multiple points.

  • Lack of everything one expects from pinot noir. The neighboring German pinot noir is far far better.

    Potentiel : 90+
    À revoir en 2022.

  • Medium-garnet color. Aromas of fresh strawberry and plum fruit, dried sage and rosemary, black pepper, mushroom-earth, and paprika. Bright red fruit on the palate, laced with damp earth & mineral notes, fruitcake spice, and tea. High in acid, round medium-light texture, finishing fine tannins and lingering spice on the finish.
