A "Burgundian" Dinner (Chez Nick): Definitely not closed-down: in fact, rather fun and sunny in feel. Yay, 2015! Crisp and smoky, stately, good weight of red fruit, nothing spiky or out of place. Really lovely.

A Burgundian evening at Nick's (Chez Nick): As is seemingly normal with Chevillon this is a glass of silken loveliness. Supremely elegant, and in a vintage like 2015 just a delight from start to finish. Approachable, lovely fruit, very measured with a red bias and good length. Rapidly becoming one of my favourite producers, and the prices remain pretty decent still, especially back vintages. This was brought to the dinner as a half bottle left over from lunch, and like its provider was no worse for wear! My WOTN.

Burgundian dinner (Chez Nick): Great balance and delicacy on the nose: spiced strawberry, cherry, dried flowers - deep and aromatic. Great concentration and delineation on the palate, chalky depth and gentle persistence. It's all very refined: rich while retaining subtlety and verve.

Nick's Burgundian dinner (North London): Off the list at Authentique then half bottle corked and brought to dinner. Limited notes taken other that this was excellent - good fruit and weight but had a lusicous structure that flowed from attack, to mid-palate to finish. Seemed more ready to go than the 2015 NSG village from Chevillon i have. Excellent stuff and relatively good value for Burgundy

A beautiful airy wine. While NSG usually makes for tough wines in youth this one comes across more refined. U still have this black earth underlying smell but the wine has also a good amount of red and black fruit. Still primary and has some wood to digest but this will be a superb wine in a few years. Rated 92 as per its current state.

HDH Burgundy Auction; 5/17/2019-5/18/2019 (Chicago, IL): Despite the fairly generous fruit on the nose, the palate here is quite hard, with a touch of earthiness and a lot of black fruit. Quite structural, this needs a lot of time to come around.

Developing well over the past few years, and lots more to go. Excellent expression of the appellation. Hits on all classic burgundy points.

Full bodied, and some of the elements that make Chevillon great, but too young at this point. Shows nice herbs and fruit and noticeable tannin. .

Wines tasted at HDH Celebration of Burg Auction - Day Two (Spiaggia): Similar to the '15 Marechale tasted earlier, this is a big boned and concentrated NSG. Loads of black fruit with a subtle earth character. Will need lots of time to gain nuance.

Wines Tasted at HDH Auction (Spiaggia - Chicago IL): Small glass, brief note. Slightly candied and certainly fun, but surprisingly simple for its level.
