Sturdy and rustic style. Masculine, with not much charm or zip. Tired nose, so perhaps not the most representative bottle? Not bought upon release, so provenance is not spoken for.

Could not believe this was a 22 year old wine. Dark ruby with slight bricking. Red cherries, raspberries, tobacco, earth. High tannins and acidity. Extremely concentrated and seemingly will age forever. Rustic, nsg like. Not for the faint of heart or those looking for a lithe, pretty Pinot

Such a beautiful, rich and floral nose. Fruit very much evident. Tannins present but smooth overall. Has the bigness of a great Corton - no match in ethereal lightness with the 2002 Ponsot CDLR but, acknowledging this a different beast, a great, great wine

Where was this stored, in a freezer? It's almost 20 years old and it is as dark as malbec. Not a single sign of bricking. Slightly muted on the nose but its all fruit, no tertiary notes AT ALL. On palate it is dense, concentrated, it's tannins are angular, still rough. I'm starting to question if I'm drinking Burgundy. GC Burgundy! This wine has the structure of 3 year old Barolo! There is some fruit on the palate but it is so dusty, it is distracting. Finish is bone dry and of good length. This needs time. I feel like I just killed a "19 year old baby" I'd say at least 10 years. It is too rustic for my taste at its current stage.

A burg-monster. Dense, slightly murky dark red. Barnyard on the nose that eventually dissipated. Black cherry, strawberry, plenty of spice and some heat. The palate shows big, dried black cherry, spice, earth, minerals, a reasonable level of acidity, slightly chalky tannins.

Deep garnet color, surprisingly so for a wine of this age (examination of the bottle showed almost no sediment)... Full strawberry nose with mocha notes, nice acidic balance and full strawberry fruit dominate the complex palate. Very dry finish lasts a reasonably long time.

Deep red. A bit of barnyard on the nose which blew off after about 15 minutes, yielding a pretty rich and very complex Burgundy. There is a lot of fruit here, but it is nuanced. Sorry this was my last bottle. Very nice!
