Wonderful expression of sgm in this case, a spicy and oh so black pepper filled example of american left coast Rhone blends being able to rival CdPs at about half the price. This black fruited morsel had such an interesting midpalate and finish, some prune, plenty of pepper spice and a nice leather saddle component that I was glad I didn't wait any longer to try my first bottle. Unlike other '14s I've had this one was definitely ready to go - though still tannic the fruit and earthiness made it a great pop and pour. Thankfully it was even better after the second day. Just a great qpr from these guys. Do they ever make a boring wine?

Outstanding balance of dark fruit and savory components woven together. There is an abundance of purple and black berries leading the way with forest floor and damp earth following. Great depth while staying light and bright.

Opened the evening upon receipt; really great blend with the Syrah really presenting itself nicely; lavender and savory meats on the nose, slight smokiness; palate is the same, with nice red-fruited earthiness; medium tannins; little acid; easy drinking and enjoyable with and without food.

Deep ruby red. Purple floral and light red fruits on the nose. Even a little toasty. Moderate acidity (7/10) with a low plus to medium bodied. Elegant and light Rhone blend. Refreshing with a little cinnamon, red fruits, perfumey and light savory undertones. Long finish. Drink till 2027.
Red Rhone blend made up of 40% Grenache and 30% Mourvedre from the Steel Plow Vineyard. Also 30% Syrah from the Las Madres Vineyard.

Still very solid wine. Hint's of plum and anise on the nose. Medium body and some blueberry seeps into the palate. lasting finish.

Better than any CDR I've had recently, and better yet, no suggestion of Brett or overly tannic. Easily enough stuffing to last another five years.

Very tasty at this stage - definitely new world, but has good balance. Rich palate yet very easy to drink - a great party red for the winter.

Reminds me of a really nice Cotes du Rhône without the brett.
Good now, but will be better in a year.

Not balanced. Too much earth in this for me and then it falls flat on the palate.

Desperately needs a one-hour decant but after that, we're off to the races.
