Deep, dense inky red colour. Tight nose of strawberry and menthol. Dark red fruit flavours and a bit of leather. Big tannins with a long, chewy finish. Enjoyable but still feels young.

Marvellous together with sirloin-steak, potatoes grilled in owen and garlic-butter! Opens up together with the meat. Classic Rioja, extremely well-balanced. Tastes delicious, lots of dark red fruits. Taste - vanilla, scent of - giving characteristics, raspberry, hidden behind blackberry. Bit leather, bit tobacco, but in a soft way. Still power, curtains midstrong. Afraid we opened it to early!!!

Great wine! Black licorice, blueberry, pencil shavings. Dark, brooding. Will buy more rioja as this is a rare wine for us to drink and very pleasantly surprised.

There seem to be contrasting reviews, both on cellartracker and other sites. Yes, there was that woody gran reserva style to the bottle and it was smooth but we found it light and short. Did wonder if it was storage - these came from the Wine Society and into a steady Eurocave. Have a few more bottles so will drink up and see if there's much variation between the bottles

31 months after the prior: Dark, savory, showing sweet vanalin. Again, black olives and macerated balsamic strawberries. Quite enjoyable over three nights.

On peak, ready to drink. Pour le prix (36$ SAQ), je trouve très bien.Je l'ai mis en carafe 2h avant le service. Bien équilibré, ca coule vraiment bien. Je ne suis pas d'accord avec les autres commentaires. Je n'ai pas vraiment trouvé de bois désagréable et il avait encore du corps.

A Couple of Days in Rioja; 11/12/2018-11/13/2018 (Haro and Logroño, Spain): Slightly deeper than the 2011 Imperial Gran Reserva. Bigger than that wine, leaner black fruit, more tannic, and a grittier mouth feel. Not nearly as close to a possible drinking window as that wine. For the longer haul, but I'm not sure about its ultimate quaity.

Similar to our note 6 months ago. Dark; savory strawberries and olives. But on reflection, lacking sufficient acidity to provide energy. Still, quite pleasant over three nights.

rather disappointing. middle of the palate hollow, not enough concentrated. finishes short. but the nose is good, strawberry flavour. with the cooked wild salmon, roasted potatos and sliced fennel in safran sauce it matched pretty well, if not great. for $ 29 too expensive. peak is over - this wine will dry out completely within the next years.

Conservé couché hors-cellier depuis été 2018. Très à point. Assez classique avec des flaveurs de cuir, boîte de tabac, fruits mûrs. tannins souples.
