  • PNP. this is a monster. Very dark, very extracted, very dense. it has some acid but more tannin structure. it fully engages the palate, and I must say maintains incredible balance despite its heft. also manages to be totally ripe without the prunes that can accompany that sometimes. tasted blind I would have guessed (wrongly) that this is syrah based. this is not my preferred style, but it is a marvel to me how they accomplished such ripeness and maintained polish. finally, if this is the baby brother to Eliseo as they suggest I am afraid of her

  • Just buy this wine don't ask questions.
For one this was a great vintage and two its the Toro region of spain and you get a big tempranillo for the money, which is what you would expect.

The purity and concentration of the fruit was amazing and the texture and smoothness from those 50 year old vines where the grapes are from is definitely showing itself off!

wonderful from start to finish easily a great wine and great display of what this varietal and region is capable of.
