Tonight this was good but seemed bit less than previous experiences. Still quite decent for $12 but it was better in the fall. Different bottling lots? You always wonder about continuity in a mass market wine.

N: Slightly closed; Berries (lingons?) with notes of earth, poss smoke?
P: Med body; NICE, almost swtish frt met by some astringent pucker which pretty much resolves by the LONG finish with an init very, VERY slt bitterness ULT giving way to a tangy/swtness for the very, VERY fine tannins. Approachable now (IF one does not mind the mid-P jolt of structure), but deserves through '19, then drinking for 3 yrs more. My VG+/EXC-, the higher IF one focuses upon the the QPR of this vendor's $9.95, which puts it in the TOP of wine-searcher's 2nd quartile. 90 pts Suckling & 89 WS (& 1 of their Top 100 Values for '17 @ $13).

Very well made everyday wine. The Merlot and Cabernet make the aromatics but the Sangiovese and Syrah give the excellent body, balance, and finish. Really this is one of the best value reds around. A benchmark wine.
Very light body, no length, maybe a good slurp with a meal that has a heavy sauce but when the wine is the strongest flavour it does not have enough whoof . I was searching for a low cost wine to buy in quantity for a party too far away from my stock. This is not it.

PnD 2/3 of the bottle let air for 1hr. Consistent with previous note. Bright fresh clean and honest. A bit weak the middle and simple on the finish. Solid value for a mid-week Italian.

PnV. Medium garnet clear with clear rim. Cherry herbs touch of blood and earth. Medium weight with black tea tannins. Bright and fresh on the palate with red fruits touch of herbs and earth.

Color: You can see all through the wine. Nose: There is something funky. No fruit at all. Mouth: The mouth is better. There is some fruit. But this wine is worse than mediocre. I won't drink it for sure. It will go down the drain.

Perhaps not quite the '13 we have been drinking as of late. Still good QPR.

comparable to a recent bottle of '13; light wine with simple pleasant fruit and a hint of baby aspirin oakiness.

Nice everyday wine. Lighter style but works with a broad range of foods

Well made and balanced new world style weekday red. A cheap (under 8 euros) and reliable choice but really no complexity/thrills here.
