  • Léger, fruité et assez sucré, Assez ample et sur les fraises. Correct.

  • Italian Wine Scholar Class at the Texas Wine School. Pleased to be trying this again, with no perceptible differences from last fall. Bright, deep pink with ruby hues. The bubbles are vigorous at first, with a bright pink mousse. The nose is clean, fresh, with medium (+) aromas of ripe strawberries, Damascus roses, tart raspberries, lemon/lime zest and sweet spices such as ginger, clove and cinnamon (although it sees no oak). The palate is sweet, with more than 100g/l of residual sugar, but is sufficiently offset by medium (+) to high acidity to yield a balanced and enticing sipper. The alcohol is unobtrusive at 7% and likewise makes Brachetto ever so easy to consume. This sparkler pairs great with savory, sharp cheeses or dark chocolate ganache desserts and mousses. Drink now, not intended for aging.

  • Robe rouge fraise. Me fait beaucoup penser à un Moscatto d’Asti. Très sucré et léger. Sur les fruits rouges et fruits tropicaux.

  • I wager that Banfi sent me this coquettish Brachetto d'Acqui in the hopes that I'd review it in time for Valentines day. Vivid magenta with a translucent rim, a fine mousse—which I appreciate—and considerable olfactive charm. Ripe, ripe black cherries, crushed raspberries, pungent decaying rose petals, earth, and an alluring pinch of spice. There is enough acidity to hold residual sugar in check, it's sweet yet still refreshing and abundantly fruited with red berries. Better yet, it's only 7% ABV. Sample
