Deep, unfaded purple-red. Nose of ripe plums, tobacco, iron. Medium-full bodied; damson tartness/sweetness, tannins still there. Reasonable length giving a dried rose petal perfume. I liked this wine a lot, it seems highly 'focused' to me, an excellent example of Crozes Hermtage.

I've had this at least a dozen times over the years, but this is the first time (that I remember) that it dropped most of its tannins. Very soft and smooth and still fruity. Dark and rich. Nuanced, but its not super complex though its possible with 5 more years this will develop. What a bargain! Drank over 2 nights (as usual stored overnight in the refrigerator). Pretty much the same both nights.

92-92 what a pleasent surprise in a blind tasting of northern Rhone wines. This stood out despite the fact that it was the cheapest wine on the list. It's stupendous! Dark fruit, tightly woven structure yet so soft and elegant. Also those typical notes of blood, iron and smoked meat. Drink now or in the next 5 years. I'm going to find more of this.

Beautiful nose out of the gates - pnp - funk, leather, earth with hints of menthol - great acidity while tannins are present but relative light (at least now) - I think the fruit will fill out a bit more but very nice so far - no signs of age - this has plenty of life ahead of it and I will probably let my others rest for another 3-5 years… Very Good

A very dark colour; the palate is full and quite meaty, with dark fruits (blackberry/damson), a well-rounded texture and good length. Reasonably mature but will keep. A very impressive Crozes.

Similar to previous notes, drinking great and no hurry to consume. I love Graillot Crozes Hermitage and view it as reference standard for that appellation, this is almost as good as Graillot’s version.

Bought these on sales from BBR for £10 per bottle, unbelievable value. Explosive nose from get go, just beautiful. Tannins have softened a fair bit over the years, soft and round, a little sweet too. Excellent concentration and length for a Croze Hermitage. Drinking very well at the moment, I love this.

2015 Emmanuel Darnaud Crozes-Hermitage Les Trois Chênes. Alc 13.5%. Roasted meat on the nose. Meat and leather and moderate drying tannins. Some nice mineral notes. Turns sweet on the finish. Young and still needs more time to intensify. Great value

For a Crozes Hermitage, this is dense and rich. Still showing some drying tannins on mid-palate but approachable. Plenty of acidity to counter those ripe dark fruits, finished with bitter chocolate. Another enjoyable bottle.

PnP. ABV 13.5%. Delivery guy just left, time to open one. Expressive floral nose, very attractive. Still plenty of tannins, dry palate, mainly primary fruits. Ripe fruits with mouth watering acidity. Good concentration and length. Finished with bitter chocolates and slight warmth. Approachable now but should continue to evolve. Great QPR as bought this case on sales for £120/case few years ago.

Northern Rhone Tasting (Restaurant Brunnenstube, Beinstein): Clean, deep purple color. Wonderful deep, fruity nose. Spicy, youthful and beautiful. On the palate dry, good acidity, deep, well balanced, lots of red and dark fruits. Oak perfectly integrated. Long. Drinks very well at the moment. Incredibly PQR!!! 89-90

Day 1: Nice mixture of fruits and earth elements. Dark cherries, blueberries along with earth, spice, floral and gravel. This is a big style Northern Rhone wine. Acidity is present and medium plus finish. Drink now to 2025. Day 3: Picking up some black pepper, dark cherries, earth, gravel, floral and tar. Medium, concentrated finish. Should age for another six plus years. 90 points Recommendation: Drinking well right out of the bottle but has cellaring potential.

This is a really good value play has plenty of northern rhone character with dark, fruit, black olives, dried herb and some subtle game, generous fruit on the palate, with just enough acid to leave a fresh texture, good finish too

Served by the glass. Apparently it is ready for your enjoyment. It is soft, round and polished. A little rough aromas of cherries and plums. An easy wine without depth.
Servido por copas. Aparentemente está lista para su disfrute. Es suave, redonda y pulida. Aromas un poco toscos a cerezas y ciruelas. Un vino fácil aunque sin profundidad.

Syrah & Shiraz Tasting (Gary's Place, Minneapolis): This is a big style wine for Northern Rhone standards. Perfume wine with Garrique, stone, mint and roasted meat. Great flavor profile. This is a winner for the price point. Recommendation: Buy more! Decanted 1 hour.

Decanted. Fairly strong reductive aromas that took about 2h to dissipate. Smoked meat, earth, olives, herb and dark berry aromas. Black and blueberries, earth, game meats on palate. Creamy and fleshy mouthfeel with good acids. Prominent tannins come up on the mid-palate. Finishes with a juicy bright blackberry flavors and a lingering coffee flavor. Plenty of structure between the acid and tannins keeps the wine lively. Nicely done.
