A heavier style Chambolle Musigny featuring dark cherry fruit, fresh herbs and earth. It is showing a little chocolate note. The tannins are refined and becoming almost sweet. A nice mature CM.

This was quite good. Dark in color. Big and concentrated on the palate. Nothing green here. Surprisingly muscular for a Chambolle wine. Drinking very young.

Consumed over the course of the evening. Still stemmy, but no "greenies". The stemminess dissipated over the course of the evening. A nice wine that would have been helped with a two hour decant. Tasted young enough to suggest that it has at least another 5 years left.

It's a 2004 so it has to suck. It has to be stuffed full of unripe stems and ladybugs and all kinds of other green matter.
Or not.
This is a tasty bottle of wine. Will it make people spit out their 1999 La Tache? Nah. But that's not the point. I detect no overt green flavors. Is this a really lacy and deeply interesting bottle of Burgundy? Again nah. But it's a really nice drink on a night when you don't want to wax poetic over wine descriptors.
Reasonably dark in color, good cherry/menthol aromas, the 'standard' cherry cough syrup descriptors (in a good way).
I was surprised. Maybe because the maker is considered more of an 'extractor' or 'concentrator', that he fit this vintage well? Was able to get more out of the juice and less green stemmy stuff in the way?
deep ruby color; Blackberry, black cherry, nice proportions, no greenness or weediness at all; well integrated, med+ body; not exceptionally complex but very nicely aged and a great '04. With Alaska King Salmon.

Dark translucent red, little bricking. A bit reserved on the nose with aromas of soft red berries, cherry, and earth. On the palate, this is very balanced with flavors of silky dark berry Chambolle fruit with a subtle mineral streak. Goes down easy, good midpalate length, concise but satisfying finish. Decanted and consumed over about 4 hours. A wonderful 2004 with no greenness of which to speak. Not overly complex but just real good and in a very nice place. From magnum. Another fantastic P-M '04.

Not that impressive in the beginning. Probably needs more time. While it did have an expressive nose, the wine was a bit closed. It was much better with the food - oxtail stew - than it was by itself.

These bottles were in a close-out rack, and may have had storage issues. No signs of green. Or much else. strawberry flavored water and acid. Other bottles seems to present more

Red Carpet: Great ripe fruits, juicy, less (no) “terroir” flavors of earth, spice, etc., but some cola and wild berries. Very good and tasty for a basic burg.

This bottle was a seeper, so it may have been a touched oxidized/advanced. Deep ruby with no browning at the edges. Upon opening, it gave little or nothing, but the nose did come around after about 20 minutes, (and faded by the fourth hour)...nice mouthfeel, some red fruit on the palate... perhaps a hint of green showing through on the finish.

A surprisingly expressive nose of red Pinot fruit, with a touch of spicy oak well under control. In the mouth this shows raspberry and cherry flavors that seem to deftly balance between a sharp, flavor-enhancing acidity and sweet ripe fruit--no sign of green here in this 2004. A very nice drink.

Anita: w/Eric/Brian S;: Wow! Classic 2004 I think. Tons of spicy nose, but more minerally than anything: --i.e. iodine, iron, slight vegetal aspect; silky graceful mth, tight, compact, tiny vegy-mineral note--very unusual--I like a lot, but you gotta like and apreciate Burgundy! Long fin, Nice stuff--needs at least 1-2 years, but could go 3-4 I think. Drinking well now except still compact.

I probably drank this too early but still I was disappointed. Fruit was almost non existent. Not much nose to speak of. This is the first I have had of this producer, but I'm going to stick with Dujac for my CM wines.

Med-deep purplish-red. Nice floral, blackcurrant and pummy nose with some smoky, iron notes. Palate offers more of the same with excellent weight and lovely balance. Velvet texture with fine tannins and a medium-long finish. Nose becomes more interesting with time in glass with warm cinnamon & spice, menthol and more gamey/iron/blood aromas. Mouth-coating, sappy richness builds on palate but isn't overwhelming. Complex, concentrated but elegant. Delicious wine. Excellent.
