  • Dark but clear purple. Rather muted nose: forest fruits at midnight. The palate evokes black olives and cherry liqueur. Consistently enjoyable over two nights, with the final glass on this third night holding up well. It's classic in style, and I feel well disposed to it, but I can't say I am excited as I have been with some of Gardine's wines. It can't be too old surely? Especially not in an excellent year like 2010. Cork, 14%.

  • From a magnum and drsk over 3 days. Enjoyable, though not expressive (and neither impressive). Bit on the dry side.

  • Light red color. In the bouquet red berries and cherries and also still a bit reticent. On the palate red berries and cherries, garrigue, not very expressive and a touch of sweetness. Will probably improve with another 3 – 5+ years of ageing. 90+

  • From a tenth (demi). Mid ruby-red with medium plus to high optical density and medium plus specular reflectivity (just a bit dull, no real scattering). Aromas are a bit tight, but lovely, with blackberry, cassis, and a mix of spicy florals and some gravel. Seems pretty approachable on the nose, with good balance.

On the palate, medium plus body with medium acidity and well-integrated tannins. Definitely shows a rounded and polished texture, with no real grip- just a general structure behind things with some weight. Flavours of mixed berries and cassis on the attack, with some light aromatic notes of tar and warmed berry compote. The entry shows a softer intensity, and generally this is well-suited for an easy-going but delicious wine. The midpalate keeps the mix of ripe and slightly warmed fruits, and adds a bit of more dried fruit and wet stone as it builds toward a finish of light hazelnut and toffee (quite light though) with a creamy lactone-like texturing. Medium length of finish and overall medium complexity.

This is a well-made and lovely bottle, with very nice balance and very excellent transmission of vineyard. Very much an elegant and polished wine, with a weighty (but still not heavy or chewy) and absolutely lovely mouthfeel. The flavours show nice intensity but nothing is overpowering or out of balance. Pretty much a classic CdP at a decent price, with a crowd-pleasing appeal. An excellent old-world wine with enough charm to make up for anything left wanting in complexity. Nice to find some CdP that isn't raisiny or showing excess EtOH!

  • Muted fruit, higher alcohol, balanced acidity, and high tannins, but the mouth feel is unreal! This must be in a dumb phase right now, or really needs food. Regardless, this has amazing character and potential to come into a great place in 2-3 years... at least I’m hoping so.

  • Medium ruby with medium intensity notes of black cherry and liquorice on the nose.
High acidity, medium tannin and high alcohol leading to a medium plus body.
Primary notes of black cherry and blueberry compliment the secondary liquorice tones. A bit too early to be showing any tertiary notes. The finish is lengthy resulting in a very good offering.

  • Dense in the nose, blackberry, liquorice, garrigue. Medium to full bodied and well structured on the palate, with intense, dark fruit, dark pepper, garigue, cinnamon, chocolate. Although already accessible leave this young CdP in your cellar for another 5-6 years to develop all the wealth of this superb vintage. I expect it to rate higher by then.

  • By the glass On the nose stand out the aromas of toasted, red berries (?) and too much new wood. That translates to the palate in dryness, fruit compote and a tannic sensation. Monotonous and onedirectional. Bored at its best.

Por copas. En nariz sobresalen los aromas a tostados, a bayas rojas (?) y a demasiada madera nueva. Eso se traduce al paladar en sequedad, compota de frutas y tánico. Monótono y unidireccional. Aburrido en su mejor momento.

  • Lush, fat and forward, there is a touch of wood, but there is ample fruit here to move past that point, leaving you with spicy, dark red berries, herbs and kirsch in the finish.
