  • Excellent
The Grenache is singing its song loudly from PnP forward. Ripe raspberry, some kirsch, cool tones, some spice. Underneath some plum and cherry.

This is hard to put down. So pleasurable to drink and worked well at the dinner table - stuffed roasted portabellas with sautéed cremini mushroom, celery, sundried tomatoes, garlic, tarragon, and parmesan topped with melted aged gruyere and basil. I usually wouldn't reach for a CdP with a meal like this, but I was in the mood and it worked.

From a review, "70% Grenache, 15% Mourvèdre, 10% Syrah and 5% Cinsault ... raised in a combination of concrete tanks for the Grenache, which is made with 30 percent whole clusters, and small new and used barriques for the Mourvèdre and Syrah, which are totally destemmed)". I love this style, I love Grenache raised in concrete.

Glad I held off on opening this first of three bottles purchased five years ago. $33 USD well spent.

14% abv, no heat detected, just a subtle soft warm glow.

    Empty bottle weight: 599g

  • Nice representation of a traditional CDP, drinking well. Medium bodied, good translucent red, not too dark. Classic Grenache notes, red fruits, cherry and raspberry, some garrigue and hints of herbs. Clean and quite persistent finish. The absence of heavy oak treatment is quite refreshing. A few more years in the cellar could help this evolve greater complexity through the addition of secondary notes. Decent value, but in general I prefer the Charvin at a similar price point.

  • Deep ruby red colour with blue edges. Blackberries, flowers and liquorice on the nose with hints of herbs and sweet spices. Taste of blackberries, blueberries, liquorice, sweet spices and herbs. Lots of layers and tastes with a great wide and powerful finish full of spices and warmth. Well balanced tannins. A good Châteauneuf-du-Pape. Goes well with beef or game.

  • Clean and pure Grenache. Lively cherry fruit notes, raspberry, pepper. A joy to drink, still, not closed or too rich or anything. Well done.

  • Nice CDP at a great spot. Young it somewhat still is but making its way into mature middle age. Beautiful nose and palette. Strawberries on the palette with some toast/char. Had a 1989 couple years ago and that was a beautiful bottle at a different stage. A very different wine.

  • Definitely coming into its own; excellent CDP!

  • Previous reviews hit the high points, but suffice it to say, this is an excellent CDP! Our only critical comment is that this wine, which is excellent, lacks the robustness of the finer CDP vintages.
Still, we are looking forward to enjoying this wine over the next few years (we did stock up) with pork, chicken or turkey, with which it pairs nicely!
    Cheers!

  • Good, classic CNdP-nose, loads of red and dark fruits, herbs. Warm but more in a soft, drinkable way than high alcohol. Good length, overall rather nice. The -15´s are starting to come around.

  • Nose: cranberry, ripe strawberries, wet paper, hint of barnyard but pleasant, dried red flowers. Palate: cranberries dominated but not bad, white pepper, medium long finish. Right at the end there was slight bitterness. Overall - a solid 90. good wine.

  • Good CDP. Elegant and good for heavy dishes with wild bird and game.

  • Clear medium red --- Nose elegant, cherries, some cardboard, sweetness --- Palate spicy, medium acidity, very tasty acidity, herbal notes flashing back, dark fruit, impressive intensity --- Finishes rather long on excellent acidity, fruity aspects and some tar. Nice vine, believe in nice development, way too young now.

  • Either this was flawed or somehow defective or people are way off with the earlier scores. 80p at the most. I have more of this and will have to come back for new scores later.

  • Singing still, no signs of closing; the most open an delic. of the 2015's, that I have tasted yet, seems quite non typical for the vintage with it's lush fruit, creamy texture and unbridled sexiness.

  • Restrained nose is giving ripe plum, tender blueberry jam, clear leather and wet rotting wood.

The wine is medium to full bodied and quite acidic. Sweet ripe plum and blueberry, shy vanilla, star anis, white pepper, game like meatiness, clear leather and cigar.

The after taste is longish dry and tannic, peppery and mineral.

The wine may be a bit austere just when opened but couple hours in decanter softens the acids and tannins and the wine becomes very classy. However, for my taste the wine suffers from a typical pushy manure of chateneuf du pape.

  • Sweet cherries and pepper line right up for the perfume. On the palate, the wine is fresh, forward and polished, which is a good setting for the juicy kirsch in the finish. The wine is made using a blend of 70% Grenache, 15% Mourvedre, 10% Syrah and 5% Cinsault.

  • Fresh, clean, dense, mineral, juicy, – and quite open ad usual for this wine. Licorice here, chocolate also, sexy stuff, juicy tannins - very good indeed, but will improve. 93++
