Deep purple color. Aromas of dark berry syrup and grilled herbs. Fully body, medium-low tannins, medium acid. Initially sweet blueberries and cola on the palate and a little detectable heat on finish. Sweet, thick, and With air this got sweeter and thicker. Prunes, canned cranberry sauce. Served with duck in a raspberry glaze which really helped to balance this out. On its own it was much too sweet to enjoy. Struggled to get through the bottle.

Decanted for about 90 minutes. Simply put probably the best South American red I have had. Deep color almost a black mirror in the glass. Nice strong legs Nose was rich dark fruit chocolate hints of cedar tobacco and maybe some violet On the palate tannins soft wine was well structured nice harmony between sweet fruit acid and tannins Thinks this will continue to evolve. Went well with a nice bone in ribeye and mushrooms.

Best malbec I've had. 83% Malbec the rest Petit Verdot & Cabernet. Poured via coravin. Very smooth oddly enough. Dark chocolate notes. Blackberry, tobacco. Full bodied and can definitely go a while. Up there in alcohol but not finishing hot. Excellent wine.

Very different style than previous vintages which I loved so I have mixed feelings. Lighter and fruity, lacking the usual density. More new world. Some annoying greens that fade away. A long decant is a must. Much better the second day hopefully and indicator of a nice maturity.

Flickinger Customer Appreciation Tasting (Casino Club - Chicago IL): Tasting, brief note. Black and blue fruit with anise, mint and thyme. Very good balance and length, showing an Old World sensibility. Mostly Malbec.
