An interesting wine. Somewhat past its peak and showing signs that it didn't have the construction to age as long as I put it down for. Tannins are pretty much gone and acidity is hanging on by a thread. Fruit is there and is very subdued. Nice notes of cherry, plum, and some loam. Very pleasant but lacking any vitality that it may once have had.

flintstone vitamins on first nose, tangy sour cherry, finishing more marischino and a liqourice note. kind of like a manhattan without the bourbon. medium body with good balance. not a lot there except fruit, but yummy fruit. well made. a true dolcetto, not a dolcetto trying to be nebbiolo.

Sour cherry on the nose, very authentic smelling (for lack of a better word). Great food wine, cherries with some earthiness. Like a good pinot noir, with some more tannin. Very nice.

Nose of crushed flowers and blueberries. Tastes of blackberries, earth, black pepper and dried cranberries. Well balanced with good acidity. Nice finish with some depth to it. 12.5% alcohol.

Not nearly as special as the last bottle I had in the Caribbean. Is it bottle shock? Started out so good with nice fruit, notes of cedar but the finish was really bitter. I will sit on my next two bottles for a few months and hope for improvement. Still good but not as great as in Bonaire.

Enjoyed at Capriccio in Bonaire, NA. The restaurant has a 3,000 bottle cellar, pretty impressive for a small island. I've come to love his Barbaresco so it wasn't hard for me to choose this wine. Really nice nose, fairly complex, well balanced with a good finish. Great QPR at $30 on the list at the restaurant.

Beautiful color of bright magenta. Bright acidity, with medium tannins. Nice earth elements on the nose and continue with the front palate. It's a nice wine, and its always nice to be able to afford a Giacosa, but it's a bit pricey for me. I'd have to be able to grab this under $20 to be happy.

Armit Italian tasting (Lansdowne Club): Very ripe cherry fruit on the nose. Bright. Cherry with textbook dolcetto bitter twist on the palate. Quite a bit of stuffing for a Dolcetto. Happy now but you could give it a year or two.

Medium-dark ruby colour with burgundy flecks. Aromas of cranberry, cherry, and plums. Light-medium bodied, with cranberry and cherry notes. Moderate finish, 25s, with red fruit.

Paired with pizza bianca from Tontonno's in NYC. Old world in style with soil, fruit and oak. Easy drinking wine. Good QPR from a rockstar producer.

Ripe, with good acidity, but not ethereal expression of fruit as I was hoping it'd be.

Good concentration of fruit with a smooth finish. Smoky, fantastic with food. Not acidic, a very untypical Italian wine.
