Christmas Day Dinner; turkey time. A singleton gift that I had been holding in my cellar. Decanted 90 minutes, aroma of truffle and cooked red fruits. Very red fruit led on the palate, with light integrated tannins. On the way down. Shortish length. Pleasant enough but barely able to cope with the food. Drink up.

Cellared since bought as future at 55 degrees. One owner. Did not decant, cork came out in one piece, very slowly. First whiff: Beautiful nose, smoky, fruity, some tannins. What an old claret should smell like. First glass: Elegant, balanced, and silky wine, with plenty of fruit left and soft tannins. Medium finish. After 30 minutes, the tannins were mostly gone, but the fruit was still there, and that silkiness. What a treat. Drink up!

Tasted at Tartine's in the West Village. Went perfectly with their kale salad and wild mushroom strudel with celery root remoulade & porcini vinaigrette. Opened for 2 hours. Medium weight and bricking. Nose was barn floorboard, underbrush, mushroom, wild black raspberry and black tea. Palate had great lift and was full of wet hay, forest floor and a touch of bret - like an aged cab franc or merlot in all their funky goodness.. wish I had more!

Dinner at Bern's. Very nice wine. Deep purple. Charcoal and lead pencil nose. Nice rich fruit in the mouth. Good right out of the bottle. Time to drink.

A lot of black fruits in the bouquet. Full bodied, round, soft and powerful. Soft and very pleasant tannin. Lovely wine.
