Time was very kind to this bottle. Earlier bottles seemed a bit disjointed but this was in a great place. Fruit-forward blend. Tannins fully resolved resulting in a velvety soft Tuscan that earns the “Super” superlative.

nice and quite complex blend od sangiovese and merlot, with an elegant and balanced touch of wood. Time has improved balance and integration and now this wine is its perfect drinking window

this bottle far better than my last, with balanced and well integrated taste of red fruit and some oak (14 mos in tonneau). Made basically of CabSauv (90%) and Merlot (10%) well pairs with a costata fiorentina. With Giorgio after 6 months

quite disappointing, the wine seems not to be well integrated and lacks pleaantness, with some bitterness. Tasted over a few days with Coravin, the first sips better than the others

The warm, rich-fruit vintage means that this has softened earlier than some other vintages. 2007 was a more muscular and tannic vintage that took 8 years to soften. So good with Italian red sauce.

A better Italian red wine for the price? Possibly...but very unlikely. I so like this blend and the winery's treatment of it, that I'm tempted to go 91.

Decanted, but this was pretty much ready to go at the PnP. Medium tannins, but lower acidity vintage. I'm recalling plum, blueberries, vanilla, and a little cedar from last night. Solid wine. Given the softer, plusher vintage, I'm not sure this will age as long as some previous vintages.

Modern, fruit-forward style. A bit of prune peeks out but then wine softens to rich cherry. Easy drinking, not much in the way of acidity (particularly for an Italian) complexity or tannins. I would not hold on to this much longer.

Polished style without the rough edges or screaming acid that I often appreciate in Sangiovese, but it’s also pretty fairly well balanced—a little round and forward but that’s the vintage characters I maybe the 2016 will be more to my taste. Some French oak. Dark red fruit with mahogany and leather. M acid, M- tannin, M to M+ body. ~6/10

So really enjoyed the 13 almost a year ago, this did not impress nearly as much. 3Day has good directional observations, just not sure it can deliver expected elegance, dark fruit, or complexity. Maybe needs time, more of a decant, better food, or all of the above. Not sure will merit more than 87 - 89, but will give benefit of the doubt and try again in 2 - 3 yrs.

Very smooth, nothing really outstanding but a solid wine. Not something you bring over to impress friends but a certain crowd pleaser. Would buy again as a slightly above average Italian red.

Lots of aromatics. Rich fruit with some smoke and wood. It has some Sangiovese sharpness and acidity but nicely tempered. Very enjoyable with a beef stew. Excellent qpr.

Day 1: Really nice wine for low $20s. Funk, minerals, red currants and earth. Medium plus finish and good acidity. 91 points Day 2: Retains some of the funkiness along with iron, red currants, spice, earth and red meat. Medium finish and good acidity. Well made wine. 91 points Day 3: More fruit and less of the funk/earth I got on day 1 and 2. Solid overall. 90 points Recommendation: IF you can get this for around $20 buy. Solid everyday wine.

This wine was an excellent accompaniment to a dinner featuring grilled beef with persillade , Greek style potatoes and salad. It has a rich fruit and spice nose that matches the tastes on the palate. Full flavors of cherry, blackberry, and a slight taste of anise and cumin. These flavors continue to the finish where there are also hints of citrus. Tannins balanced throughout. I would have rated this higher except the fruit flavors somewhat overwhelmed the other tastes. But, don't let that stop you from getting this wine. Well worth the price.

The wine looks purple colored. The legs are medium. There is no sediment in the bottle. It smells like cranberry and black currant (cassis). It tastes like blackberry, black currant (cassis), gooseberry, oak and black pepper. The body is full. The wine has round texture. The wine finishes long. The wine has low acidity.

A VERY New World styled Toscana. On nose: charcoal , oak and cassis. On palate: follow through of above flavours , high alcohol and flavours of cocoa, black forest cake and some blueberry nuances......big , forward and syrupy ....the classic acidity of the Sangiovese seems buried under a surplus of merlot .....this wine will appeal to many , as it is easy drinking ....but to classic Italian wine lovers it may miss the mark.....pleasant , but heavy handed.

The 2015 Crognolo is a delicious, entry-level wine from Sette Ponti. Bright and punchy, with plenty of red fruit, spice and floral character, Crognolo is a terrific choice for drinking now and over the next few years. Drink thru 2023

Kobrand Tour Italia (Peninsula Hotel - Chicago IL): Tasting, brief note. Rich and ripe black fruit with a lush/ fat/ modern style for 90% Sangiovese blend. Finishes more firm than I'd prefer or expect for the wine's start.

Tuscan Tasting (Zachy's DC): Plummy, rich, baked black fruit on the nose. Really saucy on the palate with silky tannins, medium-low acidity, chunky black fruits, some violets, cola and cedar. Well-made, tastes so polished, I could see this being a big hit.
