42 Days on lockdown. This wine is like sunshine in a glass. Juicy grapefruit, lemons, glycerine salinity and a long crisp finish. Bone dry and well balanced, consistent with my previous note. Classy and expensive. Perfect with Alaskan king crab legs for dinner. My last bottle.

Grand Bordeaux tasting at K&L: 52% sauvignon blanc, 30% semillion, and 18% muscadelle. On the nose, you really get both the richness of the semillon and the tropical fruit of the passion fruit, with some sweet fruit. The herbaciousness of the sauvignon comes through as bay leaf.
On the palate, pure passionfruit with a light oak influence. Medium plus acid, medium body and alcohol. Slight herbaciousness, but still quite thick and concentrated from the semillion. I don't have any experience with aged white Bordeaux, but I can imagine this being a real banger in a few years. But delicious now.

These are good young but, needs 6-10 plus to really shine and show more on the palate.
The nose reveals; melon tropicals, stone fruits, white citrus, beautiful minerality, wet stones, yellow lilies and spring flowers.
The body is thick, rich and just touch waxy. Melon tropicals, pineapple, stone fruits, white citrus, gripping volcanic minerality, white spice, wet stones, yellow lilies and spring flowers. Excellent round acidity and balanced, well polished finish. Picks up 2-4 points with the right bottle age.

Vinetasters: 2005 Bordeaux 2nd Growths (Skokie, IL): Fairly lean on the nose and palate; this is a wine that just doesn't quite surpass the grape. Some cat pee on the nose, with far more of the green grassy elements than I care for. Fairly simple; just not much to dig into.

Opened to breathe for 30 min and enjoyed. Citrus and tropical fruit on the nose. The palate is more citrus, less tropical fruit, and great salinity and glycerine. Delicious. 92/93

Paired with the '14 version of the same wine. Accompanied a salad with poached pears and blue cheese. Think given the acidity and flavor profile something in the seafood world would have been the better match. Bright, a leaner style. Assertive grassy notes. pale yellow/greenish hue. Good, but note a leap forward vs. other Bdx Blanc in the $25ish price range. The '14 was more nutty and settled, but I like the '16 better.

A good straight forward Bordeaux Blanc, not a lot of depth, medium complexity, fairly clean with a touch of unintegrated oak at this point. Providence with M-Pole crowd.

the last of my bottles and drunk just in time, I think - a gentle wine now with just enough fruit and acidity to keep it alive

Muted nose, off-dry semillon touch, short finish. Mediocre.

something wrong with this bottle I think: very little fruit and a certain astringency to finish - not rated

this was lovely - complex with just enough acidity to balance the fruit - I prefer this young although it should keep for a few years yet

Crisp, fresh, citrus, flowers, lime and green apple notes, with a round, sweet, appealing, crunchy, yellow citrus finish are what you'll find here.
