dark in color, aromatically quite ripe with slightly soured aspect to the fruit, on the palate quite acidic, hardish midpalate, minimal tannins, and a slighlty green aspect (stems?). Slightly firm on the balance, good length, good intensity, average complexity... some finesse, slightly hard texture, so-so expression of place. Quirky wine that I wasn't feeling... drink up.

in a somewhat odd spot - very tight, not supple or giving the first night. Scratchy tannins. After 24 hours, it opens somewhat but not much. The wine is rich and full of stuffing but it's very hard right now, not sure if it will soften or not. I won't open another for at least a year.

Beaujolais Ages Gracefully Seminar with Christine Parkinson: This wine, made under a very low sulphur regime, was served lightly chilled. There are perfumed violets on the nose, with a real savoury edge. There's a massive tannic structure to this, with slightly sour cherry flavours.

Delicious fresh gamay fruit with good acidity and medium body. Lighter and less serious than the same producer's Fleurie but still a great drink with food. Love the artificial cork too.

The dreaded black synthetic cork strikes again, as the wine shows stewed and pruney aromas. Cellaring this wine for a decade or so was a mistake.

Sour cherries and earth. Proper light body, somewhat herbaceous. Good but uninspiring.

Assez moyen, peut-être parce que trop froid. un peu décevant, la cuvée de base me semblait supérieure sur le mill. 2005

nice and fresh, with good acidity, smells like black raspberry jam spread on a soft roll; more black raspberries in the mouth.

Nice aromas of game and cherry, some minerals, fairly big tannins, overall riper and more body than the 04. Black plastic cork.
