This was good, not great; the nose was lovely and was pretty open from the start; classic nebbiolo with red fruit, mint, orange peel, tar, leather, tobacco, and floral notes. The palate started out a bit thin, but did gain weight with air and improved over the 2 hours of consumption. I love the nose, I wish the palate had a bit more depth and intensity though it may develop some more given the improvement with air.

3 hour decant was necessary. Although very aromatic upon opening, the palette was super tight and unforgiving. But when it opened up it was excellent, classic Barolo in most every way. Wish I had more!

This is just so, so good and to me what good Barolo is all about. I recently enjoyed the '13 Brunate, which was superb, and this is even better. Popped the cork the night before and splashed decanted this evening. With a cherry and strawberry bursting fruit profile, this has soft fine tannins and long finish. Reminds me of Sandrone Le Vigne which is no slouch and a favorite. 96+
Decanted 60 min, very nice tecture underwood, berries, no oak, plain seduction at the mature line, can be kept, but this my last bottle and I enjoyed it so much.

This one was taken from the winefridge and decanted, color deep red, nose some dark fruits, some balsamic notes, taste was delicious and wonderful, tannic was embraced in the wine to perfection, I really like it, even when I bought it , you could drink it right on, amazing wine and great Q/P.

The 2013 Cannubi is full of potential but relatively closed off as you’d expect from the house style in this classic vintage at a young age. By Cannubi standards this is a dark and powerful wine. The nose is nicely perfumed, with dark red fruits, tobacco, cinnamon/spices, and mint. On the palate, the wine is particularly austere at this stage, but there is a nice depth and a sense of balance. This seems perfectly set up to age well.

Deep garnet color. Very perfumed nose of cranberries and flowers. Medium body. The fruit is in the background against very pronounced tannins and acidity. Flavors of cranberry, plum, and dark cherry predominate over a background of clove and cinnamon. This wine needs a lot of time. Would not try again for at least another 3-5 years, and then it probably has another 10+ ahead of it.

My first Barolo 2013 from a producer I never have tasted, pop and pour into Zalto Burgundy, color deep red, nose exploding dark berries, cherries, taste completely overwhelming fantastic, soft and a bomb of all kinds of notes to make you wanna drink it the next 10 hours to resolve all those impressions. Almost just drink now but of course in this wealth some other things are hidden. Still have two more will visit in 5 years.

Bue chez Mauro Capelli à Monthey, couleur authentique, beaux reflets, très belle couleur, nez intéressant mais discret, bouche relativement ample, très classique, manque un peu de complexité, tannins encore très présents, beau potentiel

Very fascinating to taste this again. While it is still very young, it shows already even more perfumed than 2 months ago. So Cannubi with beautiful notes of sweet red and dark red berries, spices (like cinnamon, nutmeg), tobacco, also some tar and violets as well as some mint. On the palate it is much more about structure and depth than aromatics at this point. While 2 months ago I thought very perfumed and seductive, but the only thing missing might be some depth, it has already put on some weight but is also aromatically closing down a little. Excellent length. I can't wait to see how this is developping over a few days in the open bottle. Excellent value too for a great Cannubi. (94+)
Showing similarly excellent on day 2. It might have closed down a little bit aromatically. Spices and tobacco have center stage now, but also the structure is really beautiful and very classy.

Two 2013 Francesco Rinaldis: From a 2.4 ha vineyard with south-eastern exposure. Vines planted between 1969 and 1990 on a sandy, silty and clay soil. A brighter, more vibrant, lighter red colour. Sweetly perfumed with gentle florals, red cherries, raspberries and other mainly red fruit. Light and breezy, with a touch of tobacco. In the mouth, fleshy and succulent. Seeming to have a real 2013 Barolo character with plenty of juicy red berries. Elegant and pretty with the tannins, acids and fruit well proportioned and balanced. Very traditional with no trace of oak. Good weight, power and structure below the silky surface. Very open, drinking very well now. I wondered if the wine will shut down or remain relatively open, over its early life ... ? It did however shut down a little over the next day ...

This will take some time to open up but the Cannubi perfume is already there with notes of red berries, tobacco, some tar, also some flowery notes. Overall pretty perfumed for a closed wine. Medium-bodied, pretty high tannin and good length. A pretty Cannubi that will still need some time but is showing very good potential.

Lovely, complete wine that needs some time; slightly ripe on the nose, but nothing gratuitous or spoofed. Good expression of the site (nose and palate), and the grape. No flaws, no real deficits, just needs to put some weight on, add even more complexity (that the material suggests is forthcoming). Solid value, developing, with really good potential to go to the next level. HOLD. recommended+
Sweet rose cannubi perfume. More forward nose than the Brunate. Ripe and with sap, beautiful texture with richness without weight. Elegant yet powerful with balsam and more rose perfume on the back end. Terrific wine. Very long. Clarity and purity. Balance-harmony. Plenty of fine tannins on back end. 96+

Dire che questo Cannubi sia semplicemente squisito, è un eufemismo. Spettacolo. Se lo avete in cantina, bevetelo. Il mio era in stato di grazia.

Opened a magnum today and it was super tight initially. Didn’t have the time to decant it ahead of the dinner.
The wine opened up considerably over the next 90 mins.
Translucent, red cherry.
Overall like it. Though would wait for 5+ years and even then decant it for 2+ hours

För ung, behöver tid. Smakar en del körsbär, lite rök, lite viol. Öppnar upp sig med tid men är inte drickredo, kanske om 10 år.
