Nose of juicy raspberries and plums and spicy pepper , eucalyptus, a rhubarb and spicy bell pepper thing going on, too. Full-bodied, suave, vibrant acidity. Cherries and strawberry fruit, jammy but tangy. Notes of mint, pepper, eucalyptus and sage, with coffee and cola woven in well. Fun, juicy, fresh, too.

Jammy and smoky and herbal on the nose. Juicy, tangy, fun on the palate. Raspberries and plum sauce with smoky pepper, tar and violets. Fun, simple, straightforward stuff.

Deep red-purple in color. Decanted for an hour. Nose of oak, rich dark fruit. Silky smooth texture. Acidic profile, which makes great for food pairing. Reminds me of Italian wines. We ate with spaghetti and it paired well. Vegetable, mint, raspberry, strawberry, and black pepper on the finish. Flavor lingers in mouth. Good complexity for an $18 wine.

Had this again at a restaurant because at $40 on the list it was better than any of the choices priced $60 or lower. It does have a touch of excess alcohol but overall it is balanced and more than interesting red for a Monday night. Perfect for pasta, etc.

This wine is very consistent in overall quality vintage to vintage. I saw a note comparing it to "The Pessimist'" but for my palate it is somewhat better. There is a level of finesse in this wine the "The Pessimist" is completely missing. It is not as sweet, nor as oaky, or hot/alcoholic as "The Pessimist" is. Yes it is young and somewhat intense/bold with fruit but the Sangiovese softens the effect and it is really nice with red sauce and roasted meat. I would love to taste a vertical sometime, it is in a screw cap but it will develop over 3-4 years.

Have had two of the Ferrari whites and was impressed with the quality at the price. This is the first red and not so much. Little too much residual sugar and the alcohol isn't fully integrated.

Not complex, but very tasty. Juicy acidity, red fruits and a nice oak touch.

This wine is one of my favorites. Great flavor palate with a bold, yet balanced acidity.
