Very impressed with this 2016 Grand Reserve Cab. Full bodied, smooth with flavorful red fruits, and well structured, this wine is sneaky good for the price.

The assorted array of 80+ scores below truly skew the overall quality and qpr of this wine. How unfortunate to even think that scoring is done with the mistaken belief in higher pricing assures high scoring merits. When the reality is for those lucky enough to taste wines from $20 to $5000, at times the whole price denotes quality is thrown out the window. The Kendall Jackson GR 2016 is case in point. With the exception of length of finish and some nuance to complexity, this wine can hold it's own vs any $100 Napa or WA cab.

Wanted to sip without food on a sunny day. Light acidity, can’t define the nose, except for alcohol. Tastes a bit smooth at first, which is good because it smelled hot,,then turns bitter quickly. Short finish, luckily. Waste of money.

Dark red fruit, oak, and herb aromas show a streak of smoky goodness. The mouth is full bodied, dense, and well put together, with a good bit of complexity and a nice floral aspect to the black cherry and plum flavors.
