The tasting notes below seem to describe a more advanced wine than I drank. I found a very structured Beaune, as expected, with quite fresh blue fruit. The only detracting element was a slightly stiff and bitter finish which frankly feels like more aging or maybe more air would improve. On second drinking there it’s definitely some barnyard or brett depending on your taste. I rather enjoyed it but I realize brett can be very off putting for some.
I enjoyed it very much and it reminded me of the way old French wines used to be - highly structured with subdued fruit.
Very good with food.

unfortunately i think this is slightly flawed with brett given the barnyard notes that while they diminished, the brett never quite blew off and marred the wine.

This took 30-60 min to open up, but drank well afterwards. Cloudy ruby red in color. I tend to enjoy 2003 burgs, as I enjoy the extra fruit and lower acidity compared to other vintages. This followed the theme, with my wife even guessing this was a 2010 burg due to the fruit. Aromas and flavors of earth, forest floor, cranberry, strawberry, meatiness, and tart cherry. This paired very well with a rosemary thyme pork chop!

Surprisingly, no sediment. Brick colour. Traditional PN aromatics but also a very notable spice component. Earthy, forest floor, red berries. On the palate, tons of secondary characteristics are present. Good acidity still, but don't wait too much longer and risk losing the fruit. Fantastic and elegant.

Lovely, intense yet feminine Burg, it's the earthy complexity that sets these Pinots apart from the North American cousins and makes you wonder why anyone on earth would grow this grape other than the French - Dark red, medium concentration, with a nose of intense cherry, cinammon, earth, spice and vanilla, nicely balanced, very complex, velvety smooth on the palate with excellent length (91 Points).

Great stuff, especially considering the vintage. Pascal Marchand is a genius and can't wait to try the Grand Cru. Buy if you find this, and drink over the next three years

Perfect with the Roast Chicken tonight - It was medium bodied and concentrated, with varietally consistent cherry/earth notes on the nose, it was velvety smooth on the palate with a medium-long finish, very nice! (90 Points).

Very nice. Earthy yet light. Black cherry, strawberry, spice, oak. Long finish. The nose and color suggest the drinking window is closing.

Good, but lighter and thinner than I prefer. Sweet fruit. Nice aroma.

Nicely balanced and silky smooth. Cherry, beetroot and some earthy character. Decent acidiy so it should last until 2015 with no problem.

Aromatic and complex, leather, nut, fig, cherry, and amaretto nose. Toasty and round palate with good Pinot bitterness; long and spiced finish.
5/5
