This is the third time I’ve commented on this and it seems to continue to improve as each year passes. Lots of dark berry fruit, smooth and with a great finish. Rich but certainly not over the top.

Decanted 3/4 hr. Maybe should have decanted a bit longer. Really opened up after the first glass. Drank over 2 days. Day 2 was a bit stronger than day 1. Consistent tastes of nice big dark berries.

I have drunk a few bottles of this over the last two years and it’s getting better- has always been good. Loads of predominantly blue fruit (some red) and excellent with steak au poivre.

Tasting even better than the last bottle. Rich-looking, anise in the nose, and beautiful blue and red fruits. Smooth, sexy finish. An elegant bottle. 5-12-17-9: 93/100.

Decanted for 1 1/2 hours, paired with grilled ribeye and grilled mushrooms, bells, onions, hints of chocolate, black currants, blackberry, and leather, some oak influence, nicely balanced and dry,

Quick 15 minute decant. Aromas of melted chocolate, blackberry, currant, black cherry and just a hint of plum. Flavors of blackberry, currant, black cherry, chocolate and touch of iron. Ends with a blackberry infused finish of 30+ seconds. Bit cool on the first sip but opened up quite nicely.

This was delicious and exceeded expectations. So well composed and balanced with delicious dark fruit but there was an amazing acidity on the back end that brought more life and freshness. Was just as good on the 2nd day. Quite striking how good this was.

Was good, but not great. Was expecting more complexity. Slightly tight on entry and through the mid palate. Muted fruit. Was more open and better on day 2.

Black cherry and smoke aromas. Tart blackberry and cassis threaded with vanilla. A little tight on the back end. This doesn’t seem quite ready for prime time. 91

This is good. Nose is good example of a cab. Palate has a hint of licorice, not to much, with good black berry and oak notes. Not the most monster cab, but great with the steak and seasoned shrimp we had. Seasoning was Fiori's.

I like this. I had a bottle a year ago but much better now and my guess is that it will continue to get better for another 4-5 years and then plateau. Dark fruits, blackcurrant above all, blackberry and still a little oak influence. In good shape but plenty of mileage left.

Winemaker Notes The 2014 Lancaster Estate Cabernet Sauvignon is a beautiful wine that captures the pure expression of our unique terroir here at Lancaster Estate. It is a blend of all five of the red Bordeaux varietals we have planted on our volcanic hillside slopes. Bold aromas of dark raspberry, cherry, and violet are complemented by a refined minerality. It is well-structured and focused with silky tannins that frame the blackberry, currant, vanilla, and spicy dark chocolate flavors. Endless layers continue to evolve on the palate as the wine opens leading to an elegant, lingering finish. An approachable wine in its youth, this Cabernet will only gain in complexity and will drink well for the next 15-20 years.

Tasted at winery after 1 hr decant, compared to 2015 vintage. 2014 first post drought year, fruit much brighter. Currant, chocolate. Nose more floral compared to 2015. NEEDS TIME to appreciate as a stand alone, doesn't seem ready now or maybe needs way longer decant time. Definite food pairing kind of wine at this stage.

Drank at Seasons 52 , floral notes with a hint of pepper on the nose.Aromas of black fruit, currants and plum with some pepper and thyme.Full bodied wine with a pleasant mouthfeel. The dark fruits flowed though on the palate along with a hint of cassis. Tannins are on the softer side but still solid with good acidity, a very solid wine from the Alexander Valley. A very well balanced wine, went well with Lamb Loin.
not as amazing and elite as the first time I had it, which was elegant, feminine and complex (amazing value)...this time less finish, dark fruit more muted and more subdued... rounded and balanced though.

Dark brick red color with long slow legs in the glass. Aromas of black currants and plum. The dark fruits also show on the palate along with some graphite with a viscous mouthfeel. Finish is more tannic than vanilla and lingers for more than 30 seconds. This California cab would drink well now with a juicy steak. More impressive than the last bottle.

more plum, blackberry, sweet this time around--complex, medium bodied wine with good length....not as refined and exquisite or amazing this time around (had it around Christmas and would rate it 96 back then)

Concentrated, and diplasying distinct layers, this is loaded with blackberry, cappuccino, red currant, cassis and pipe tobacco. Ripe, with velvety tannins, but still elegant and the long finish trails off with a fine acidity. Decanted for an hour. Drink 2019 - 2032.

Decided to give this a shot in light of WS's 94 rating and #86 on their top 100 list for 2017. Dark black and red fruit - blackberry, currants, dark cherry, and a little plum. Smooth mid-palate with solid depth for the price point. Rich flavors of dark berries, some spice, and a little mineral component. Decent finish but not overly long nor deep. Decanted for one hour and drank over another two. Improved a little with time but drinking well after the decant, however, I believe this vintage could use a little more time for the fruit to soften and open-up a little more. According to WS, best from 2019 to 2029 which I believe makes sense. 80% Cabernet Sauvignon, 9% Malbec, 8% Merlot, 2% Petit Verdot, 1% Cabernet Franc.
Restaurant pour, bottle open greater than 24hrs. Nose is not overly aromatic, dusty dark fruit and chocolate. Palate is nice, balanced, dark fruit, blackberry/currant, riper fruit, dark chocolate, decent structure with with med plus tannins. Lengthy finish. Impressed at how this is showing after being open for almost 2 days. I imagine this will continue to improve with time. I would hold for 5 yrs and try again. 91+
