I cant even rate this bottle, Its way past its time, taste is absolutely disintegrated, no firm tannins, no acidity, nothing to grip on, smells like wine which is just too old. My bad to decide for opening this so late. Just like all 2014 from chianti rufina, it was just not the greatest vintage...

Has really come into its own in the last few months. Integrated flavors of meats, minerals, brine, and berries. Good palate presence. High quality, touch of class. A lot of wine for the money.

I had to buy this funky bottle, it is gold. As in they sprayed the bottle, there is no looking through the glass. With a bit of age on it, there may be some hope of tertiary development in this Reserva. It’s pretty dark in the glass, a lovely shade of ruby. On the nose I get red cherry, cooked red cherry, earth, mushroom, pomegranate and oak. The palate is very delicious, smooth and not biting. I am really enjoying lush flavors of dark cherry, earth, game and cooked red cherry. The tannins are really well integrated and meet up on the back end with some vibrant acidity. The body is decent, heavier than I was expecting and certainly welcome, the mouthfeel is balanced and smooth. I am thoroughly enjoying this Sangiovese, and feeling that most people would not buy it due to the strange packaging- I’m off to get the remnants, it’s that yummy for the barebones price of $15. A veritable steal that gets 91 points and 5 stars. Drink till 2025 with pasta, duh!
Consistent with previous notes. Nice ripeness with freshness. Touch of VA. In a nice place but based on this bottle it feels like it has peaked. Drink up.

Good Sangiovese. The 2014 is already outside my recommended drinking window. This wine should have been consumed 2-3 years ago to drink it at its peak. Tannins are soft and smooth, colour has meanwhile evolved from bright red to now include some brown shades. Still some fruit left. I drank the first glass straight from the bottle, which was the best glass. The rest I decanted for another 30min without any improvements- in fact the wine deteriorated during that time a bit. Overall: if have this wine in your fridge, hurry up drinking it NOW!

A touch musty to start. Opened up with more air. Consistent with previous note. Nice macerated cherry sage leather Parmesan rind porcini and cola on the nose. Crunchy fruit with savoury notes on the palate. Holding up really well. Delicious.

Opened this bottle to pair with a home cooked steak with my spouse over dinner.
Decanted for 30 minutes before drinking. Still the formidable tannins were relentless. Brooding crimson purple red in colour with notes of rustic and rusty nails, blood, iron, coffee and dark red fruits. Evolved rapidly in the glass to give a more complex and integrated mouthfeel, and then disintegrated to give off highly acidic notes of sour cherry and prunes.
Can consider pairing this wine with a carbohydrate dish such as pizza or pasta.

2 Hour decant. tasted right after opening and it seemed tight on the nose, so figured some air would open it up (which it did and then some)
Beautiful, rustic charm to the wine. Medium+acid, medium body, strong nose of red fruit, oregano, sweet tobacco. Nice integrated tannins and continued red fruit on the palate but with a fair amount of structure that held up even after 2+ hours in the decanter.
This was a visceral pleasure of a wine - nothing intellectual but good QPR and great expression of the style.

Love this wine. So consistent. So serviceable. Not a P&P wine. Needs 2 hours to open up. Then has the body and tannins and fruit and balance to rock. This can go 10 years, easily. Had a Kobe fatty ass beef. Held her own once it opened up. Needs a 2 hour decant or it is thin, lightweight and flavorless.

Brought this to Orchid Live Seafood to celebrate the birthday of two close friends.
Bottle breathed for an hour before serving. Notes of unripe berries, rusty nails, sour cherries and chewy tannins.
Not extremely enjoyable at the moments the wine is probably not ready. Integration still questionable and perhaps a longer breathing period will benefit the wine and the drinkers' experience.

Slightly inconsistent from previous note. More depth less primary on the nose and palate. Cherry anise amaro on the nose and palate. Lingering cherry ganache finish. Great example of the ability of Nipozzano to evolve improve and pleasantly surprise. Look forward to seeing how my remaining bottles evolve over the next 10 years.

An excellent product coming from a difficult year in Chianti region. Thanks to its position, slightly in the inland of Central Italy, allowed Rúfina to have a bit less rain compared to other regions, allowing for better maturation of the grapes. Frescobaldi produced a splendid product, full of fresh fruit, blackcurrent in particular, with slight hints of spices, round acidity and soft tannins. Let it rest for a bit before opening it. Ready to drink in 2018, open it as soon as possible or regret later.

Punchy with nervy acids and crunchy red fruits. Good right now but worth following for a few years — need to hold off drinking another until next Fall just to give it some room to grow.

Mørk rødlilla farge. Lukter av mørke bær, solbær. Mørke bær dominerer også smaken. Rund og fruktig. Litt tanniner. Ikke så veldig lang. Etterhvert ble den rundere. Lettdrikkelig og god, uten å være alt for kompleks.

Appearance : medium ruby, with legs and petillance
On nose : medium+ intensity, red fruit : cherry, black fruit : plum skin, some mineral, tobacco, lichorice, hint of vanilla oak, still developing
On palate : dry, high acidity, medium intensity, red fruit (plum skin) on front palate, medium+ & round tannin, medium+ alcohol(13 abv), medium body with savoury and bitterness after taste, medium finishing.
This wine is always be my table wine, Supperisingly this wine is good match with red rice, a very pleasant flavor and harmonies on palate which increase the richness of the red rice. Compare with 2012, I prefer 2014 more. Dispite of the hard vintage in 2014, it really shows a terrific skills and tremendous effort in the wine making to keep its quality that I appreciate. Cheers!

PnD 2/3 of the bottle let air for 2hrs. Medium purple garnet with violet to clear rim. Plum cherry amaro touch of sage and rosemary on the nose. Medium (-) weight grippy ripe tannins. Cherry amaro cherry pits hint of sage. Fresh and primary a bit thin primary and young. Better on the nose. Not jumping up and down but will still lay down half a case to see how it evolves and to fill out a vertical.
Decanted for an hour,, this wine is coming fresh and vibrant,, with red berries, cherry on the nose, in the mouth mid-weighted, friendly tannins, soft and approachable.

Pretty good bottle, especially given the price. Has a very nice spice to it. Definitely some lighter fruits initially but then followed by blackberry. Starts off light but get heavier. Quite enjoyable.

Has a very light nose. In mouth coffee like very mild and quite short length. Certainly very tannic. (Used a venture to aerate) Not the most exciting wine I have had. Not a "bad ta able wine" but certainly not worth its price. Although the tannins may help keep this wine over the a few years I do not believe that this will improve as the base is not there.

Needs a couple of hours aeration. Has aromas of red currants, raspberries, vanilla and hay. Its medium bodied elegant and supple, savoury crunchy red and blue fruits palate has lovely acidity, food friendly oak. Ends medium long, fresh and aromatic. Will be an 89 with more aeration or a laying down of a couple of years. 13%.

Color: ruby/purpleish and between transparent and not. Quite dark for a Chianti. Nose: Red berries, a hint of vanilla and oranges. Cherries, too. Mouth: Not the most expressive Chianti I have ever had. Perhaps a bit lame and tame but nevertheless very enjoyable. It is getting better while drinking. There is some complexity and juicyness. I would drink up in the next 2 years.
Correct, mais dispendieux pour un vin que je qualifie pour repas de semaine. Il y a des Chianti beaucoup mieux sur le marché à prix moindre ou comparable. Mauvais Q/P*$$
