In great shape, drinking much younger than it should. Still with some fruit but nice tertiary notes as well. This went great with the Wagyu course at Schwa tonight. Could easily go another 10+ years

Oh wow. I don't know if it's got another 40 years but I did think, tasting blind, that it was a grand cru or abnormally good, early 90's Burg. Truth be told I'm not a huge fan of Corton but this Corton-Bressande was showing beautifully, with quite stunning definition and precise, fine tannins. Very pure, high-toned fruit. I did Corovin the last glass or so but didn't get around to tasting today.

Dark ruby. This started out as a tannic, austere, muscular behemoth. Initially dark, damp earth, black pomegranate fruit and a very elegant truffled note that persisted with time. After an hour a very complex perfume of dark cherry, strawberry, raspberry, kirsch, a hint of animale and a rocky mineralite somewhat akin to being present during a quarry blast. Subsequently cola, Asian spice and Christmas confection, sweet and long. High acidity and tannin, at almost 30 years young this has the stuffing to easily go another 30 at least. Fantastic stuff!

Complex strawberry fruit and a bit of mushroom on the nose. Maybe the tannins not quite balanced at the end, somewhat drying. A little over matched by the company but super wine.

Slight orange rim. Gamey farmyard and creme de cassis on the nose. Dark fruits with pepper and spice. Lovely nose. Delicate on the palate - nice fruit but quite evolved and slightly medicinal. Drying finish.

Damn Good Burgs and a Toast to Hanky J (Keyaki Grill at Capital Tkyu Hotel): Very young looking deep reddish purple. Olive and Christmas plum and pepper lead off on the nose, which settles down into a little earth and some cherry. Foursquare and solid on the palate with rich cherry, some more earth, and good solid fruit sweetness – still very young. Good body and intensity, solid depth throughout the palate, just enough acid brightness to keep it fresh. Tannin is noticeable but tame. A very pure and pleasing representation of Corton.

Slightly oxidized and the acidity rampages over the red cherry fruit. Not much depth or complexity unfortunately.
