Right after I opened it, bit disappointed. Because I thought it passed it’s peak, and found lots of sediments I decided to use decanter, around 1 hour after decanting it became a totally excellent wine. Very long finished, well balanced, and good feeling of acidity, it still has a lot of potential for aging. enjoyable wine!!

Wines like this continue to show why you should never listen to wine criitcs who are either over paid or have an agenda. 2000 vintage is panned as terrible by the "professionals." This wine is drinking very well. Absoultely above average. Glad I have 2 more bottles that I will probably not touch for another couple of years.

Deep dulling ruby; cedar and blackberry notes on clean easily coaxed nose; spicy menthol alcohol palate with more tannins than apparently I appreciated about this time last year.

Absolutely awesome. I wish I would've taken notes. Lots of ripe red and black fruits, coconut, and rich, black soil. Full-bodied and captivating with fine-grained tannins, integrated acidity, and a beautiful complexity. Creamy semi-sweet chocolate and berries dominate the moderate finish. The fruit is showing strong, though a few more years would've done this wine well.
My only complaints are that the wine wasn't quite totally captivating, and the finish left some to be desired.

Deep black ruby, Grenache nose of black cherry/kirsch, sweet and alcoholic and soft if any tannins. In short another perfectly constructed nondescript Parkerized wine devoid of personality.

Decanted for 30 minutes before service. In the glass, dark cherry red with a slight garnet tint. On the nose, crushed cherries and damp earth. On the palate, dark cherries, currants, minerals, and a faint hint of pine, with a lean finish. Takes some time on the palate to fully register. Nice wine, and not the usual Cali profile, but not sure it was worth the premium relative to Bdx.

Browns Win! (Verite, Mauro Veglio, Nigl, Mazzocco, Mustilli): This is in a great spot right now. Another 2000 who is drinking well. Decanted for sediment and served. The nose is complex with cherries, earth and warm moist forest floor qualities. On the palate, this is soft and mature and delicious. Ready to drink and I would not wait much longer. Plenty of cherries and earth. Long finish.

Deep ruby color. More of a modern styled wine than the others we were drinking tonight, and also a Merlot rather than a Cab, but with an interesting herbal tinge to the nose, along with cocoa and some sweet alcohol notes. On the palate it's quite nice through the middle with good presence, but falls off a bit on the finish.

Keith's 2010 Blind Challenge 2 (28-50, London): Deep, dense red. Cool, quite lean but with a latent density on the nose. Very full, dense and focused on the nose. Loads of fine tannins. Loads of everything in fact. A glass or two could be tiring. Apparently Keith bought after I raved about this a while back; can only be the Verite Muse then, but this isn't as elegant as the 99 I raved about though. Needs a couple of hours in a decanter ***+?

Wonderful wine, not at all a typical california merlot, let alone a typical cali 2000. Deep, dense dark fruits with tons of chocolate and good minerality. Velvet mouthfeel but this is not a cali fruit bomb, but rather a really well balanced wine with nice complexity...combines the best of a right bank bdx with cali. Drinking nicely now.

Oomph but not a lot of fruit; graphite, minerals, red currants, mint; clear old world style but not inspiring
