The wine looks inky colored. The legs are slow with light sediment which I barely noticed. Found the 15 minute mark to be really interesting. Notes obvious and strong. Found black currant, caramel and other spices. I'm a fan and will look out for more of these in the future.

I was imagining a wine where the fruit would be subdued and overtaken by leather, tobacco and perhaps tea. Wow, what a nice surprise as this vastly exceeded my expectations. There's still life left in this and there should be no hurry to drink up.
Garnet colored, medium-full bodied, there was a huge berry fruit and forest floral nose on opening. Pleasant, balanced and modestly polished with tangy mouth puckering acid and smooth tannin texture, it opens to slightly astringent plum, dark berries, slight hints of caramel, mocha and a touch of cassis with a layer of smooth oak on an acidic clove tannin finish that lingers for many minutes.
Really lovely, intoxicating, bordeaux-like nose of dark fruit, spice, leather and oak. Fruit seems just a bit green on the palate, but also with good complexity. Medium bodied with a slightly lean, silky-smooth texture, soft edges and a slightly acidic balance. Lots to like, but not quite fully ripe.

I would have guessed this for an aged bordeaux in a blind tasting. Cassis, plum, earth and oak on the nose. Medium bodied, super smooth and with a slightly lean mouthfeel. Soft tannins, mild acidity and excellent balance. Medium, fruity & earthy finish. Seems to be fully developed.

Soft and balanced. Earthy truffle note on opening quickly resolved into sweet blueberry/cassis. Medium bodied but mouthfilling with acidity and tannins soft and integrated to balance with fruit. Medium finish with smokey, earthy elements. In a good place with some years in its plateau. Challenging to arrive a final rating - lacking a bit of complexity but really nicely balanced and enjoyable. The balance wins out.

Good components and a well made wine. Unfortunately, the 2000 vintage exhibits much more earth than other years. I am not a fan, so this turns me a off a little. Cab franc shines, though.

Much more developed than a prior bottle. Great full, rich, ripe nose of cassis, dark cherry, earth and oak. Concentrated and rich with a full, coating mouthfeel and a firm structure. Nice, long, fruity finish. Still just slightly primary, but with terrific flavor, concentration and mouthfeel. This bottle was still young and primary, but the components are really outstanding! I think it may develop into something really special.

Popped and poured one glass and decanted the rest. First glass was basically just tannin with a dark berry fruit background. Did not open up for over an hour and even then, the tannins overwhelmed the fruit. This wine has good potential, but needs several more years before it is ready.

Wow. Terrific structure, fruit and well-tied together complexity. More layered and focused than Pride's Cab Franc. This is not showing any age at the moment and could easily go for 5-10 years (but this was my only bottle).
