There's no doubt this a big Pinot and in typical Todd Anderson fashion old world style with a touch of California flair. The nose has bright red fruits with earth and wet wool, I picture a beautiful lady rancher coming in from the rain. In the mouth it's a bit high on the heat but great dried cranberries, a bit of beef jerky, and dried flowers. Finishes moderately long with a mineral hint.
Great find if you can great it below $50. Certainly an interesting departure from a lot of Napa central CA coast Pinot Noirs and a lot more complex than some stuff coming out of Anderson Valley.
Remember you don't drink the label.

Drank this at Bern's steakhouse yesterday. I told the waiter that I wanted an aged pinot without having to sell the crown jewels. He proposed this... BULLSEYE!What a huge surprise. Absolutely no signs of ageing visibly, on the nose or palette. On the nose, you would think you were about to taste a textbook burgundy. Very elegant perfume of sweet red fruits redcurrants perhaps). These notes consistently flow onto the tongue. Overall, this is a gem of a wine which represents great value for money.

Black cherry, trawberries, red currants, maybe red raspberry, with some cedar/tannin and black pepper. One of the bolder pinots i've had -- more like a cab. Love this wine. still worth every penny of the $25. great deal from invino.com.

This is not a pinot - the bottle is big and the wine shared the characteristics. It was smooth, the silkiness and high acid was nice. A lot of fruit, a bit too much and the high alcohol (@ 15.4) was over-powering. It didnt behave like a pinot. It was the 7th bottle in a line of Cali and Oregon pinots and this one was by far the most extreme. David at the table described it really well as "product of a Cab maker making pinot in Napa.."

A pleasant surprise. This has evolved nicely into a restrained, almost elegant pinot noir. Very unexpected from this producer and this appellation. On the nose, tart red fruit, with notes of wet earth, brown spice, and cloves. Palate continues the tart fruit (cranberry and cherry), with spices. Nice balance of tannin and acid. Should have many years of pleasurable drinking remaining.
