Decanted 2 hours. Medium-mature colour. A slightly muted nose. Some cassis, some graphite; not much else. Smooth entry. No real oak noticeable anymore. Not much fruit really; some stony black fruit eventually. Not particularly complex. Acidity and tannins showing, but they give it good vigour. Medium-bodied, elegant (but bordering on thin?). Some length. Good, but somewhat thin for me. Seems unlikely to improve.

Seems like this wine is very good at the moment...like every 1999 wine this wine was a couple years ago not good very closed and now this wine has opened up nice earthy notes smooth dark fruit...last bottle best bottle!!!Tasted this on holiday and by far this was the best wine tasted.Opened a 2003 cantemerle unfortunatly it was corked...opened a 2004 la dominique and it was completely closed even an hour later there was nothing opened up at all...seems like 2004 is over for a couple of years...we have to lay down these wines and let them rest for at least 3 years...I wonder if the closed stage for BDX 2002 would be over?maybe I'll try one soon...greetings Jochen

Pale, weak rim, rubied core; low keyed, some blackcurrant , tobacco. oak still showing; soft, blackcurrant note, opens to moccha, tannin on finish; easy going, lacks stuffing. Can drink now, may sl. improve 13>Filled out? more stuffing. Scotty not so keen.

Still drinkable but on the way down. Very little fruit left. Lots of earth taste, leaves, and liquorice

Very good drinkable Bordeaux. But not typically Pessac I would say.

OK but a tad disapointing... (maybe I was expecting too much?)

Mid Sep 2007: crimson color; red berries, coffee and vanilla; round texture with a noble austerity.
