  • Found a last single bottle when re-arranging the cellar. Certainly past its peak, but still very enjoyable, especially for those not frightened away by a little edge of oxidation. Rich, tropical fruit combined with good acidity and freshness. This wine was never meant to last for 21 years, but this bottle certainly did!

  • Buttery, honeyed deliciousness. Smooth and rich. French oak was well integrated but still present. All the hallmarks of an exceptionally well-made wine and good cellaring

  • Medium yellow-gold color. Tropical fruit, peach-skin, grated hazelnut and some pebbles in the nose. Smooth and powerful on the palate with intense yellow fruit (young apricot) notes and good acidity (fresh), thus a great balance. Attractive bottle in excellent condition. Drink now or within the coming three years.

  • Nicely developed wine with an enormous amount of ripe tropical fruits and spreading through the whole mouth. Rich. Long finish.

  • Musty, mango and pineapple fill the nose with a wet slate overtone. The taste is rich and honeyed, with a strong overtone of ripe mango and lemon. I thought this would be flabby and faded with age, but it's just the opposite. This wine has aged gracefully, like a beautiful Meursault and still has some fruitand acidity left in it. I am very very impressed with how well this wine aged. It won't go much further, but it doesn't need to for the price: $23. I'll buy a few more of these.

  • Pale gold (at best) very very young hue. Similar nose to the 2002 but absolute fruit power and oak lift not quite as intense. Powerful palate but fruit profile is a little simple. Starts out with sweet friut but then jumps suddenly to a spicy oak finish. Good fun, and perhaps the most gluggable of the wines.
