Pale lemon. Only medium intensity with not particularly well-defined aromas of lemon, lime, pear, apple, grapefruit, clove, vanilla, hazelnut. Medium+ acidity and medium+ acidity on the palate. Medium+ finish. A good wine but lacked the intensity to be rated higher. Not sure this is suitable for further ageing due to the lack of intensity. Perhaps bottle variation?

Crystalline stone fruit and peaches. Very enjoyable and structured from Lamy. Left a glass to try on Day 2 and the fruit faded somewhat and hint of wood came out.

Pale gold. Nose of mown grass, white grapefruit, apple core, acacia blossom. Layers of stony tart citrus, apple, and hints of oyster shell on the tensile palate. Steely structure and longer finish of tart white fruit anchored in pebble and stone. Delicious.

Though the difficult 2016 vintage looks very good, proving the talent of the Olivier Lamy. Has filled out a touch with juicy toasted lime and white stone fruits there is still great drive as well as a mineral tow. Can certainly go longer but in saying it only has good length, so drink now or over the next couple of years.

This wine was so shut down upon opening. One hour of air, and it showed beautifully. Started out shyly with pear, but kept opening and was vibrant with notes of citrus.

Drank over four days. Pale lemon in the glass and rather reductive upon opening that took sometime to blow off. This wine really tested my patience and didn’t start to shine until the third and fourth day. On the first two days I concluded that the wine simply needed more time given it wasn’t as expressive as other bottles I’ve enjoyed and these wines generally perform better than this even when this young. The palate didn’t have the density or concentration that will come with age and the acidity wasn’t as racy as you’d typically expect. However, by the third and fourth day the wine had really turned the corner and fleshed out; gaining depth and becoming more expressive. It had developed the classic - for me at least - Lamy nose of gun flint, polished steel, lemon balm, and white flowers and the acidity has become far more racy - another hallmark I associate with Lamy. Good things come to to those who wait.

Lamy's 2016 Frionnes is ripe with a nose of apple and stone. Palate is a little flabby with clipped finish. Lacks weight, but it should improve with another year or two in bottle.

Drunk over two days. Pop and poured day one and about half the bottle left in the fridge overnight.
light golden green in color, with pear, citrus pith, marzipan, and a hint of matchstick on the nose. Mid plus bodied with a toothsome texture, power with grace with the dry extract beautifully balanced with acidity. There is textural density and tension coupled with contrasting creaminess. Jasmine, and florals add the the whole. A serious, very well done wine a little broad on the brushstrokes on day one. Serious yet passively very enjoyable. On day two, this gains focus and depth, becomes more chiseled and chalky. The baby fat that came across as richness has become deeper and more nuanced. On day one this was very enjoyable, today a much more serious contemplative wine that punches above its weight. Significantly better on day two and scored based that day.

Pale green colour, citrus and green apple nose, amplified on the palate over a minerality reminding one of Chablis but with more honeysuckle and white floral notes. A crisp acid to clean up and an enticing down the middle linear texture. Great drinking from a much undervalued appellation.

With each passing year, this wine gets better and better; fairly reductive style fresh fruit of crisp lemon and green apple overlaying salty minerals, green leaves and chamomile on the nose. Fresh acidity but with a certain "give" on the midpalate now that shows beautiful texture from lower yields. Very complete St. Aubin and this has upside potential still. 91-92 points for me today.

Drank from a magnum. To be honest I was a little underwhelmed by this. I have been a big fan of Lamy’s wine but this one wasn’t all that special. It was a bit too acid and the flavours didn’t come through.

Am anfang etwas verschlosse, aber mit der Zeit immer mehr geöffnet und mit einer tollen Länge, Mineralität, Feuerstein, ganz dezente Buttrigkeit, Stachelbeeren, Grapefruit, Nasser Stein

Another Wine Slog Across France; 11/2/2019-11/13/2019 (Paris, Alsace, Burgundy, Encore Paris): Half bottle. Pale. Intense aromas of lime and herbs. Medium weight, excellent glycerine texture, then a stunningly energetic finish of acidity and stone. Thrilling tension and drive. Lamy routinely seems to extract every drop of rocky flavor from his modest holdings in St. Aubin. I enjoyed this little bottle more than either of the Raveneaus we had over the past few days.
Dinner at Sun Wah (Chicago, IL): Definitely not what I expected from a 2016. This is inordinately high acidity, with an almost green streak running through it. Perhaps this didn't even finish malo? Served blind, I would never have guessed this vintage; perhaps 2011? A very strange edition of this wine, and one that I'm not enthused about.

Much less reduction than previous bottles; very salty/minerally nose of tart citrus with a bit more harmony than I would have thought. Almost Chablis-like linear structure makes this very tasty and original right now. Would love to revisit again in 3-4 years.

Very pretty but very tight! green apple, salty lemon drop with spring flowers, spearmint and almost grapefruit-like tartness to the fruit today. High acid and closed today but the fruit shows great elegance and should open out a bit more over the next 3-4 years. Good food wine today.

A little too lean at this point. Took about 6 hours to fully open up the nose, but the palate was still lacking in fruit.
