  • No contemporaneous notes. PnP. My 3rd bottle and the best. Served at a charity barbecue at my home. Love this style of wine, albeit not a blockbuster. Better than the 2019 Erath but not as concentrated or rich (but I prefer this earthy style) as the 2016 St. Innocent Shea Vineyard also served. Consumed quickly.

  • No contemporaneous notes. Decanted and served immediately, following the 2016 Domaine Serene Yamhill. This was much lighter in both color and content, but is a well made very good to excellent OR Pinot and was enjoyed.

  • 13% abv.
Beautiful expressive nose. Unfortunately, the palate just didn't measure up, as it seemed closed. Never really opened up throughout the evening, though I made sure to let a glass sit for a couple of hours. Just tight and mostly shut down. It seems there is enough there to warrant letting this sit a few more years, but not particularly enjoyable at this moment in time.

  • Definitely showed much better with a bit of air. PNP before dinner was just fine, with a good bit of fruit and earth but otherwise pretty straightforward. Came back a couple of hours later and it showed better finesse and complexity. Finished the bottle the next day and it continued to show fairly well. Pretty good QPR and will look forward to having again.

  • I was disappointed with this bottle as we had previously had this Pinot in this vintage and thought it had more complexity and was overall a lot better. This bottle seemed very one dimensional, primarily light underripe red fruit with minimal nose and a little too much acid. Opened and drank immediately at cellar temp. May need a little time to breathe.

  • PnP and had with Pork osso buco at Emma's Brick oven. Took a little while to open up and flesh out, but once it did, was really good. Light bodied red fruit, with a hint of floral. Plus acidity almost to the point of frizzante upon opening, it settled down into a lovely fresh zone. Went great with the pork. Easy to drink and delicious with food, I really believe it hit the mark of what they were trying to do with it.

    would buy again

  • Acid-driven style but with a good fruit presence as well. A little of that OR Pinot "orange peel" along with a bit of a grapefruit note. Good tension. One might mistake this for Burg in a blind tasting. Another Evesham entry-level winner. Really like this producer.

  • So much better on day 2 - this is one of those inexpensive "little"pinots that requires cellaring or decanting way in advance to show everything it has. Which makes it a difficult wine, to me, no matter how absolutely lovely it is. Who has room to cellar a wine like this, in NYC? Anyway...on day 1 it is a bit shrill and disjointed, and although the fruit is lovely the wine flirts with hot and just didn't come together. But on day 2, it is harmonious and the texture and structure are lovely, and it's just a very good wine. Delicious ripe fruit, complex leafy and earthy bass notes, balanced and just delicious. I'd love to drink this again.

  • Subtle and nuanced with notes of roses, violet, cherry coke and ripe red fruit. Fruit forward on the palate with low tannins and medium acidity, and a clean and light finish with a slight aftertaste of cranberry and pomegranate. Very easy drinking at 13%. Would buy again at $15-17.

  • Spicy fruit, and blacker for this house than I remember it being. Maybe a bit more of a ripe year? Smell of black raspberry. Smells really quite good. Cut and tight on the palate. Fresh, mineral, needs some time.

  • Excellent value. Red berry fruit, spice, and earth with a velvety mouthfeel. Should improve with time.

  • Consistent with previous note, yet better. Spell-binding range and depth, while also fun. In two words, utterly delightful! If better value can be had in a WV Pinot Noir, I have not found it...ever. 91-92.

  • Crunching berries, with compelling vivacity, lift, and precision. High QPR and worth following over the next several years. 90-91.

  • Pale ruby in color, this wine reveals tart cherry, forest floor, sauteed mushrooms and baking spices on the nose. The mouth feel is lighter bodied with silky, soft tannins and brisk acidity. The finish is slightly short and brought faint elements of effervescence. 13% abv.

Purchased for $18US, this was my first tasting of the 2016 vintage of Pinot Noir from the Willamette Valley. This bottling showed well but is very young at this point.
