Super ripe and extracted. Blackberry compote, roasted meat, toasted marshmallow. Full bodied with rich finish, little flabby but so hedonistic it’s hard not to enjoy. Drink now.

Always love a Booker Fracture. On the nose: savory notes along with dark fruit. I would say black and surprisingly olive notes, cloves, bay leaf and spice notes. On the palette: continued savory notes, medium tannins, medium acidity, long finish of dark plums. Classic Syrah fracture. Love it!

If I was to use a single work to describe this wine it would be...SMOOOOOTH. Just a great rendition of Syrah from Booker...the fabulous dark fruits just glide across your palate, a great nose of berries and roasted meats, and a finish that sails on and on. Terrific!

Medium plus nose shows black pepper, layers of black fruits, blood iron, meat/game. More Rhone-esque than I expected. Palate matches, more about the fruit there, but still has a hint of Rhone Syrah like Cote Rotie, which I again I did not expect, thinking this would be all black fruit layers. Medium tannins on the finish make it smooth, loads of spice/alcohol that could be mistaken for stronger tannins and also give away it's New World origin. Very enjoyable and well made.

To be frank, Ive I can't recall ever opening a Booker wine that was less than expected. Dark berry, rich spicy mid palate and enough tannin to make a great food wine. Another solid effort by Booker, Cheers!

Coravin poured and tasted over several days. Deep inky purple that clings to the glass (15.2% ABV). Not much of a nose. Big delicious wine with lots of ripe black berries, smooth/soft mid palate and a slightly savory finish that goes on for days.

It's black raspberry season in the Northern part of Michigan right now and I ate my fill of wild berries today while out for a walk. That's my reference point for the purity of this Syrah. So pure, so elegant, it hits all the right notes for me. The sweetness and fruit here outweigh the peppery spice finish often associated with great Syrah, and I don't mind a bit. Not cloying at all with plenty of acidity and structure in control, and the lower register has indeed filled out some since I last had a bottle about a year ago. Wine-making at a very high level. PnP works well, while this note is after a couple of hours in a decanter.

Scorched earth on the nose, dark fruit, massive dark cherry with soft tannin on the finish. Delicious and way too easy to drink for such a huge wine. Glad I tucked this away for a little bit.

Not to rock the boat, but I was disappointed with this wine. Decanted for 2 hours and drank over the next 3. Not much nose to speak of. Round mouth feel. Soft, elegant and balanced. Modest tannins, but not much finish. A well-made wine for sure, but I found it to be pretty simple. For me, it lacked depth and complexity. Maybe, I was expecting too much...but, I have had other Paso Robles syrahs that I have enjoyed more, and at much lower price points. Perhaps, it is too young and will improve and show more in a few years? Time will tell.
Vauw. This is outstanding. In total balance with deep layers. Smooth like velvet, but with a strong, proud structure. Nothing is out of place here. Maybe it is 100p, but I dont have the guts to call it.
Wow, as good as advertised. Might be a conservative rating but I have 5 more bottles to enjoy. Good acidity and tannin structure, balanced, delicious. I really like Syrah and find bottles from great winemakers to be half the price of their Cabs. I have had several young syrah's recently and each one has been great. I don't know if they will shut down or not and in the past I really wanted my syrah's to have at least 5 years of bottle age.

This wine is the purest expression of Syrah I've consumed in a long time. Velvety smooth and elegant, with nary a rough edge to be found. Rather than a gate-sprinter, this thoroughbred is a stayer, pacing its stride from the start delivering pure, delicious black raspberries, tobacco, herbs, and pepper spice across the board, and finishes in the money. I love me some Shiraz, but this Syrah is the winner of the feature race.
PnP at room temperature, and left in the bottle. A bit more enveloping mouthfeel developed over 3 hours, which boosted the rating another point to 97. The somewhat light lower mid-palate weight kept the score from nosing up towards perfection, though I'll wager this yearling is in the running over the next few years. Drinking now is an even money bet, no need to go to the wire.
PNP into decanter and then glass for 30 mins. This stuff is black, with a fluorescent violet rim; velvety stuff. Nose of bakers oven and blueberry beef Wellington. Also violets, nutmeg, cardamom, cinnamon. Juicy silky mouthfeel, then tannins break and coat. Tremendous wine. Hold.

Dark red. Dark red berries. Some pepper and blood. A touch sweetness. Restrained and velvet tannins. Lovely!

Incredible depth, great blue and black fruit, with just a touch of white pepper. Extremely settled, plush and approachable. Supurb.

A genuine gem from Paso Robles. Plenty of life left. No doubt that the best Syrah from US comes from PASO.

Typical of Booker's wine they are wonderfully drinkable with no decanting or airing. This syrah is bold, bright and smooth.

Dense and dark fruity. A touch of meatiness to it as well. Supple without being flabby. Just delicious. Hard to let it sit in the decanter.
