  • Fuller than I expected, perhaps due to the age. There was a slight edge / undertaste to it that meant this was not as crisp as I had hoped. Disappointing by the high standards of the vineyard.

  • quintessential Raveneau, full yet elegant, striking acidity matched with the minearlity and body.

  • Intoxicating nose of lemon, apricot, beeswax, smoke, buttered toast and iodine. Some reduction with really great depth, brightness and complexity. On the palate it has good volume while being magnificently firm, delineated, grippy and lifted. A supremely textured white. Altogether savory and as usual terrific use of oak. Minerally and citrusy with fantastic saltiness. Impeccably balanced with lingering finish. Very young still, great future ahead but immensely drinkable and enjoyable at this very moment.

  • tropical notes with a touch of honey. richer than I'd have imagined and atypical for chablis IMHO.

  • Not up there with the very best Raveneau I’ve tried but this did not disappoint (as it hardly ever does). Still a bit young for my taste, but it was quite approachable immediately out of the gates and got better as lunch progressed. Definitely recognizable as Raveneau with its seamless texture and purity of flavors. Very good indeed and will get better with a few years of age I think.

  • Puligny-Montrachet, France. From the restaurant's wine list.
Pop-and-pour is all that was needed. Kept improving throughout the night. Fantastic quality Chablis. Can go the distance, but already in a perfect spot.

  • This is so approachable, and drinking at its peak. Raveneau is the king of Chablis and this lived up to expectation and was remarkably accessible straight from the bottle. It was not at the exquisite level of the estate's Grand Crus, but still very exceptional.

  • Tasting @Cru Vin Odense, Denmark.
Enticing from the get-go. Surprisingly open and willing to play already.
Lemon curd/custard, apothecary herbs, mountain dew, wax, soap, almond cream and bergamotte, along with an intense oyster shell minerality. 128 L Barriques is noticeable, but as always with Raveneau it is precise and completely integrated. Just adds another layer to the wine. Incredibly intense and complex, lingering in the mouth and gains weight along the way. This is Chablis at the highest level, and yes, the Raveneau hype is justified. Unfortunately...

  • One of the finest young Chablis I have ever tasted.

  • Well damn, I really wanted to like this less than I did. First full bottle of Rav (as opposed to glasses at bigger dinners) so really got to see the evolution. On initial opening it was clearly good, but not much better than my usual good Chablis go-tos. With time it blossomed, and every aspect of it just became MORE, in a great way. Drank a few weeks ago already so tough to be too specific, but the overall impression of balanced intensity really stood out after a few hours (and on day 2).

  • La Paulée - Friday Night Dinner (Ai Fiori +): Late night pop n' pour, and then tasted again the next evening. Consistent on both tastings. Young, pure and rich orchard fruit with intense mineral/sea shell notes and taut racy acidity. Should age for a decade+.

  • @ a restaurant in Beaune. Fair price, so a no-brainer! Quite closed at first, so immediately put in karaf by our waiter. During our dinner the wine opened up to be quite great and already showed it's potential. What a delicious wine by this super Domaine!

  • Second time this year and even better than the first bottle! The nose is relatively subtle: Some buttery notes with a bit of lemon, needs air to show more. But the taste: This my friends is benchmark texture. Silky and smooth but no fat, no vanilla. The wine is austere, some lemon, crushed stones, mineralic. How can a wine be so lean but so perfect in texture. Great acidity and length. Very strong wine!

  • from La Dilettante in Beaune
Flint, wet rocks, light citrus on the nose. Austere, sleek structure.
Some hints of dairy and bread on the pallet. Clearly well put together but ahead of its time, but definitely needs a few years to really develop. Simultaneously overwhelming yet subtle. My first Raveneau did not disappoint!

  • A private lunch (Wine Bar La Dilettante, Beaune, France): Another Raveneau marvel. How can a wine with such intensity be so feather light, how can such piercing minerality be wrapped in such a silky-smooth texture in such a young wine? The flavours of flowers and citrus zest are to die for, the souplesse on the palate is utterly beguiling, the balance and harmony are impeccable, and the finish lingers on. Will develop for two decades, but it is irresistible today. Note: I get nothing of the robustness which Allen Meadows mentions. On the contrary: this floats above the earth.

    Note : 17/20 i.e. 94/100

  • The nose is precise with lots of lemon, some white fruit and just a very little hint of some toasted aromas. Great mouthfeel and acidity. Refreshing, crisp, mineral-driven and lean. Lemon, rocks and oyster. A classical chablis from one of the best! Will gain complexity over time but certainly in a first drinking window now.
