Popped and poured. Aromas/flavors of dark fruit, earth, and smoke. Moderate complexity/finish. Drinking well now. No obvious reason to wait, but seems like it should hold over the mid term. This was consumed late in the evening after an impressive lineup and a 92 may be low. 92-93+.

Ficofi Paulee- Bachelet’s style suits a leaner year very much. Beautiful aromatics dark fruit, smoke, meat and herbs. It was transparent and pure on the palate with very good complexity. My top 3 wine tonight.

Dark purple - almost brooding in character. Sappy red fruit, dark fruit, black cherry, raspberries and hints of smoke. Incredibly young still. Plenty of upside here as this is still fairly primary. Fun to drink today but will get better. Give it 10 years.

Boys' lunch (The Ledbury, London): Cool, balanced, this has a bit of everything - brown sugar, grip, citrus, earth - and it's all fully resolved - sensational

The wine is a dark red, not too dense and with few signs of evolution. The nose is immediately open, pure, deep black fruits dominate as well as strong notes of elevage. Very classy nose, but still dominated by elevage. The mouth is very sweet, delicious, nice volume and fine tannins. The sheer class and purity of the fruit shines in the mid-palate, but strong elevage notes although completely blended and not overwhelming, still tend to dominate in a slightly unbalanced way. Good length. Lots of material, but maybe not enough to absorb all the wood. Very nicely made wine, in a modern style.

Healthy center, some fading at the rim. Totally sexy red fruit and rose florality gave way to a bacony, high toast charred aroma that swamped the fruit. Too bad because there was lovely, delicate fruit in a medium body that did not need to be so dressed up. Very poor match between the volume of fruit that the vintage offered and the exaggerated method of vinification. This style might work and add interest in a bigger vintage, but not a big success here.

Aromatically complete, this has it all -- spicy, sweet, and meaty. On the palate, it's not quite there yet, and is still shockingly tannic -- about as structured a 2000 as I've ever experienced, and the fruit material doesn't fill in all the spaces. A little more development, though, and this will become a big wow.

Drunk in NY Palace...light ruby color, nose of sweet spice and red fruits, med weight in the mouth , still mostly red fruits with just an edge of barn flavor coming in, pleasant to drink, prbly has a few more years left to it

200 Burgundy Grand Crus from vintage 2000, 4-day blind tasting (Singapore): Beautiful and sexy nose with earhty and floral elements, toasty oak. The Pirate and best wine by far in this Mazoyeres flight.
