A positive surprise this. Left alone in the cellar as these wines need time and I've struggled to enjoy the 04's with their green aromas. This one is developing on the nose, still green herbs and a minty balsamic tone, but more complex with forest floor, hint leather. Fine, mouthcoating tannins as expected from this producer (would have guessed Pommard if blind). With air the fruit comes more forward and it feels much more in place than for ten years ago.

Good colour, decent nose, with the expected Volnay allure; but.....on the palate, a let down. Foursquare, solid, coarse tannins. Drying out, time post pulling the cork & in the glass did not help. Drink up.

Yeah! Drinking great. Persistent red fruit with great cut. Forward and aromatic right out of the gate so I think I opened this one right in its wheelhouse. Wish I had more...

Drank over two days. Tight on day one via the Venturi. Light and a bit fruity for me at first with a touch of menthol. Day 2 is where this came together for me. Better balance and the touch of heat from the open was sorted out finally.

Medium red. Not a whole lot showing on the nose; some red fruit and earth. Medium mouthfeel, some red fruit, earth, and forrest floor on the palate. Great balance with huge grippy tannin..... Not an overly complex bottle but very nice none the less.... I think I'll wait 2-3 years on my other bottle.

Already showing reasonably well (better, since more forward fruit, than the Volnay 1er Cru of the same vintage). Quite pure red fruit, good earthiness, tannins well integrated. Will probably improve over several years but not one to hold too long.

Drinking well above its class. Austere but balanced, no hint of the "greenies." Very pure and focused...no rush to drink this one.

Huge powerful grippy tannins. Some fruit showing through, but this really needs some more time...
