Pours a dark crimson color. Aromas are characteristic, showing dark fruit and a touch of hickory smoke.
On the palate, this wine is medium to full in body with moderate tannins and low (approaching flat) acidity. Flavors include dark plum fruit, blackberry, and cocoa. The finish is bittersweet and carries some dried herb flavors.
Not bad for the low Last Bottle price. Not something I'd buy again, but perfectly acceptable.

7/26/2018 update on notes below per second bottle tasted. This bottle was not flawed with fizz. As per below, this is a relatively simple Shiraz with black fruit notes, medium body. Still zestier than I prefer but should drink well with most meat dishes. 3/2020, smoother but missing depth.
I may have had a bad bottle. It was almost fizzy. Definitely out of balance with acidic heft. Aside from that, which made it nearly undrinkable for me, it is a simple fruit forward wine with supple tannins and a moderate finish. Possibly a decent midweek wine to go with burgers. I'll update after the next bottle.

Nice. Ruby red with tannins under control. Paired with a nice steak!
