Caesar77’s note is sopt on with my impression of this wine. Beautifully balanced, with hints of vanilla, butterscotch, stone fruit, and I would add lemon curd. Not at all buttery, oaky, or heavy. In a very nice place.

Wine had leaked past cork which was not very tight when I inserted the corkscrew. Unfortunately this had turned to vinegar. Wine was a gift so I have no idea how it was previous stored.

Golden flax in color with a nose of vanillin and white fruit. On the palate it has a creamy mouthfeel with flavors of stone fruit, glints of butterscotch and baking spice leading into a finish of golden delicious apple. Just the right amount of acid at the end to flush the palate. Finish is medium length and its the malic acid which persists (never hits you in the cheeks like granny smith, but moves away from the golden delicious and more in that direction on the finish). Despite the notes of vanillin, butterscotch and baking spice that I picked out, this is beautifully balanced Chard that will be enjoyed by those who do NOT appreciate malo or buttery Chards (its Burgundian in style and has even less oak than many Burgundies).

Working from memory - no formal notes. Well balance, not oaked, fresh and bright, fruit-driven with refreshing acidity to balance out the fruit. Very nice.

Pietros: I have always loved this vineyard and had the pleasure of making wine from it for quite a few years. It is truely special and this bottle really shows why. Although the wine is barrel fermented the lemon and green apple tones of the fruit are the stars of the nose supported by the native yeast and spice oak. Great acid and tons of length.

Peaches and apricot aroma. Creamy golden fruits with a little sharp heat on intro. Bottle for the oak fans. Probably better when decanted for a short while.

Gold in the glass with nose of green apple, butter, and oak. On the palate apple, peach, cream, and oak, with burnt caramel on the finish. Medium acidity. Like many of you, we’re generally not fans of oaky, buttery chardonnay, so this wine is about as close to that as we can enjoy. Very good wine for the style and price point.

At first taste this was meh, another mildly oaked Cali Chard. Put it aside until dinner and then it just blossomed with shrimp scampi. A marriage made in heaven! The slight toasty butterscotch, stone fruit and the perfect amount of jaw-tightening acid cut through the butter & garlic and kicked a William Selyem Pinot to the curb. Pairing is everything and this one held it's own with the scampi. 89+ pts and $29 at Costco.

32 New World Wines with Food / Tapas at Enoterra (Enoterra, Kingston, NJ): Some ok fruit but not as showy as other vintages of this -- or as my expectations. Perhaps it was the location in the lineup? #23 -- and we had it later, after many reds and some palate fatigue. I'd love to try again.

Toasted oak and sharp citrus. Not overly oak, just well made.

Excellent wine. Not to oakey, not to bitter, just right. Bought a bottle at Costco. Went back next day and got a case. Will have often.
