Caesar77’s note is sopt on with my impression of this wine. Beautifully balanced, with hints of vanilla, butterscotch, stone fruit, and I would add lemon curd. Not at all buttery, oaky, or heavy. In a very nice place.

Wine had leaked past cork which was not very tight when I inserted the corkscrew. Unfortunately this had turned to vinegar. Wine was a gift so I have no idea how it was previous stored.

Golden flax in color with a nose of vanillin and white fruit. On the palate it has a creamy mouthfeel with flavors of stone fruit, glints of butterscotch and baking spice leading into a finish of golden delicious apple. Just the right amount of acid at the end to flush the palate. Finish is medium length and its the malic acid which persists (never hits you in the cheeks like granny smith, but moves away from the golden delicious and more in that direction on the finish). Despite the notes of vanillin, butterscotch and baking spice that I picked out, this is beautifully balanced Chard that will be enjoyed by those who do NOT appreciate malo or buttery Chards (its Burgundian in style and has even less oak than many Burgundies).
