This is all beach and tidepool on the nose, touch of sulfur, but overall nicely enticing; classic, classic palate, taut, even lean fruit, but complemented by strong chalky, rocky, iodine minerality, hint of late saline, but the razor sharp minerality and acidity dominate the lasting finish. A rock head wine, one this taster finds delicious.

Medium plus intensity on the nose with lemon, apple, pear, apple pie, toast, flint and wet stone.
Pronounced and dry on the palate with some cream coming through. Noticeable grip adds some structure. High acidity, medium body, medium alcohol, long finish.
Delicious.

Pnp. This starts quite promising as the wine is initially rather tight and tense with good acidity and freshness, and both chalk and some sulphur creating a fairly typical Chablis flavor profile. Only the grassy notes are a bit irritating. With more air however, the wine loosens up considerably and the various flavors seem to fade. So you are left with a pretty and fresh Chablis that however lacks a bit of concentration and also tension. The mediocre 2016 Chablis vintage shows after all. Overall good but not great for my favorite Chablis site.

This did not at all fullfill the expectations. Nose fully muted. Mouthfeel was quite nice. Too low acidity, no length. Slight bitterness. No classic chablis minerals or acidity, no lemon no nothing. I hope for the producer the bottle was off because otherwise this was very weak. Roughly 6months ago I had Montée de Tonnerre 2016 from Raveneau. What a difference, a different league of wine.

Burgundy 2016 (Prince Sydney, 40 Hansard Street): After the previous three wines this is a lot richer with a little ripe stone fruit, butter, sweet spice, again a little sulphur. On the palate the acid is more contained but this is still a little sour for me. Fruit more evident but sulphur tarnished and there is some burr on the mid palate lending texture. Long. Hmm.

Lots of chalk and minerality on the nose. Lots of stiff energy in a good way. Palate is round. Now and from 1998 try aim for expression of place where they want freshness and minerality.
Difficult during spring but summmer was beautiful. For the wine maker thencintage turned out somewhere between 14 and 15. Some freshness and minerality but without aggressive acidity. So now these can be drunk. Very approachable.
The last to harvest. Many parcels are at the top part of the hill. Flat on top and very cool.

Perhaps a little less linear and integrated than would be optimal but still a great expression of chardonnay.

Quite saline. Austere. Needs 5+ years.
